“And so when everything was calmer, my mom and I scavenged through the forest helplessly until we found this village. It became our home.” He narrated.“We were happy to see people like us here.” He exhaled sharply. “Apparently most of them shared the same fate, casted away, rejected, unwanted folks and no matter our differences. We have learnt to stay in unity and peace for as long as I can remember.” He narrated.Tears gathered in my eyes and I felt their pain. Imagine if I didn’t have anywhere else to go or if he hadn’t rescued me from Thane’s men. What would have been my fate?Perhaps, one day I will read about the founders of this village or probably I could get someone to tell me about its history and then I would write it down in a book so everyone else who comes into this village would know how it became and appreciate those who had come together to make sure the outcasts have a place in the world.“Sorry about that, Luca. You and your mother have been through so much together

Where exactly in Thane’s pack was this seal?My mind started searching every nook and cranny of the library wondering if I had mistakenly seen it around and then I recalled vividly. In the midst of the growing love between Thane and I, he had shown me something. Something he claimed was a heritage to his pack and had been kept safe since they had possession of it.Silence cut through like a sword. “Its okay!” Della sighed, her words cutting through my thoughts. She got on her feet. “Since you’re one of us now,” She started. “You will have to undergo training in order to be able to survive here and protect our village against intruders.” She announced. She turned to leave but suddenly halted and turned to me. “Perhaps you could learn to fight like a warrior or learn to wield your powers.” She ended and continued walking towards her bedroom.I and Luca exchanged glances but didn’t say a word. Luca left the room, and now it was just I and Cara left. She too left eventually and I was b

Nathan clenched his jaw as his eyes darted between Della and the rest of us. He inhaled deeply before answering, his voice clothed with frustration. "I woke up in an unfamiliar place, okay? I didn’t know what to do, I didn't know if I was safe or not. So yes, I tried to leave.""You tried to leave.” Luca scoffed, shaking his head.Nathan shrugged despite his bounds.Della examined him for a long while, her countenance was blank and unreadable. Then, she sighed sharply and turned to me. "Mira, you seemed interested in what he had to say. What was he telling you?"I hesitated. How could I explain it? How could I explain that the moment he said he knew my parents, a storm was stirred inside me? That for the first time in a long time, I felt like I was on the verge of understanding who I was."He told me he knew my parents," I admitted, my voice almost a whisper.Della’s eyes narrowed slightly, but she remained composed. "And you believed him?"Luca scoffed. "Of course, she shouldn’t, th

He chuckled at first. “If there’s anything I don’t do, it’s lie.” He said leaning on the threshold.“I could say half truths or conceal the truth but I would never lie. Why would I?” he spread his arms.I murmured inaudibly. I wasn’t sure if to ask him this, but perhaps I should and get it off my chest.“So was my mother from this village?” I spoke.“That, I do not know.” He replied genuinely.“ I only know about her marriage to Alpha Ethan and her duties to the pack. I don’t know anything else before that.” He replied and I could sense honesty in his voice.“It’s okay.” I nodded. “Have a goodnight then.” I said moving away from him.“Thank you.” He smiled and got into his room, closing the door behind him.On my way to my room, I saw those same familiar red dazzling eyes looming in the dark. “Oh my gosh!” I screamed in fear immediately it lunged at me but my fear subsided the moment I realized it was Luca, a faint moonlight shone on his face. I held my chest and tried to control my

My eyes shot open immediately and I saw myself in a place I couldn’t recognize. Before me was a house rising in flames that no one could put out and the screams got even louder and achier. I felt hot liquid ooze out of my ears and I took my fingers there. I picked the hot liquid and cried shakily when I saw what it was… my own blood.“What the fuck!” I muttered under my breath.Where am I? I wondered, looking round.Just as I turned, my eyes fell on a pretty blonde little girl hiding under her bed, shaken to her core by fear, until her mother came and reached out to her. She held her hands, pulling her out of the darkness and comforting her. For once she felt safe, but they weren’t safe. The soldiers, their enemies were coming for them.I turned again and saw an angry confrontation between a blonde haired man and a dark haired man. They both seemed oblivious as they stared at each other with such great fury, tearing down each other’s body and everything they held dear.Suddenly a col
