I stood by a table , holding a glass of sparkling champagne while i raised my eyebrows - taking in certain details. It was still the same hall where the initial bid had been held, but there had been certain changes- the seats had been taken away and was now replaced by decorated tables filled with drinks and some light deserts. With the absence of seats, everyone had to stand by each table. That didn't stop others from moving around and socializing as before - glasses clinked and people cheered to each other. "I wish to see your boss" The hunky bodyguard stared down at me, feeling hesitant. "I have something that your boss might want to see" - i smiled briefly, holding on to my crutch. "Wait a moment" - he turned to his colleague, whispering a few things before returning his attention back to me. I watched quietly as his colleague walked through the door, returning only some minutes later. "You can go in" - he stretched out his hand, opening the door that led to a dimly red-lit room. I stood by the side of the road - my thoughts jumbled and in disarray. I must at some point asked the driver to drop me off here. It wasn't like i knew wherever here was - I rested on the road rails, the sounds of the waters hitting the shores filled my ears. This road was mostly desolated and on very rare occasions, would one see a few cars pass by . I was lost and most importantly, stranded. I sighed, trying so hard to clear my mind. I stepped down, squatting on the tarred road in a pitiful sight. If i could just climb over it - possibly, all my nightmares could come to an end. I could even get reunited with my family once more.
