My Roommate is a Boy のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 21 - チャプター 30

RIVER "Taylor," she humped when he just sat there doing nothing. He looked down at her, still seated on the floor, like the fall from the booth to the ground was going to do internal damage to her. I knew she was trying to get the attention of Taylor; he was the kind of guy that girls swam towards and tried to make the centre of their whole world, and he was the kind of guy who fed off that attention. I was neither of the above, and now that I was sitting in this breakfast place that smelt like cinnamon and sugar, all I wanted was to have a peaceful breakfast and not try to punch anyone in the face. "Vanessa, get up," Taylor said, and she humped once again and then slowly got up, dusting off her body and standing closer to him. "Taylor, why are you so mean to me?" She asked, forgetting that she was fighting a battle with me, and I was glad for that. "Mean to you?" Taylor asked like someone who knew what he was doing too well but wanted to play dumb for longer than he was allowed t

TAYLORI enter the house, and it is all quiet. I walk to my room and drop off my clothes on the bed. I take a quick shower, and even though River is trying her best to be as quiet as she can be, I know she is currently trying her best to avoid me. I slip into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, and also a jacket. I put all I will need for an overnight stay at Hendrix's place so we can get our truckload of schoolwork done before the end of Sunday.I walk to the door and knock gently, waiting for her to open up. "River?" I call, but her name feels too weird on the tip of my tongue. I hear shuffling in the room, and then everything quiets down.I knock again, and this time I raise my voice louder than it was before. "Sweetheart?" I call, knowing it was going to tick her off so much that she might as well come to the door. "Can you get the door?" I ask, knocking again, and I hear her footsteps come to the door, and then the door flies open in front of me."I told you not to call me that," she s

RIVERAs soon as I step out, I have no idea where I am supposed to go. I figure that the first thing would be to cross the road, but before I can take a step forward, I feel a tug and pull on my hand. I am spun around, and I am face-to-face with Arlin. He has a smirk on his face, and even though it's the kind of expression that Taylor usually carries, his is more chilling and sends a kind of wave down my spine."Where are you going?" He asked in a low tone, and I wanted to take a step back, but his grip on my elbow tightened with each passing minute. Or maybe it is my brain that is making it feel that way."Home," I say, explaining it for him if he did not understand what I meant when I stormed out on him."So I brought you out on this date, and you decided to embarrass me?" He asked, and I could see the anger ticking in his eyes as his jaw tightened."Embrace you?" I ask with a gasp as I try to take my hand out of his. "Lying to me and bringing me here, and I am the one who is doing t

RIVERI am on the bus going back home after a long day of running to attend classes. I had still not familiarised myself with the terrain of the school, so when I had to go to another building for lectures, I was quite lost. I think back to the day and the conversation I had with Lana and Elise about Arlin and his antics."I was almost too sure that he was a good boy," Lana said as she popped a roll of bread into her mouth and began chewing. "He was giving off some kind of good vibe; I guess I was wrong," she added once she had swallowed her mouthful of food. "Huh! I would have sworn that he was a gentleman; how could he think to act that way?" Elise carried on. They had both wanted to crucify me because, apparently, Arlin had gone ahead to try and smear my name. He told Elise that I had begged for a date and embarrassed him when we got to the restaurant because I found a cuter guy. If he wanted to slander my name, he should have thought of a better lie. I did not necessarily care ab

RIVERI had not expected Taylor to show up here; I had sent the message to him just because it had been something my dad forced me to do when I was young, and somehow it had been ingrained into my head. "Always tell others you live with when you are going to be out late so they don't worry." I didn't think that Taylor would have been worried about me staying out until eight pm.I staggered to my feet and stared at the door. Taylor's eyes caught mine, and I saw the smirk that had been his signature grow bigger."Sweetheart?" he called and then took a step into the house, squeezing himself between the doorframe and Javier, who had not allowed him to come in yet."CXoem in? I guess," Javier said as he closed the door and turned to the room. He began picking up the pieces of clothes left on the couch, and I saw him and Matt pass a glance around. Matt cleared his throat and stumbled to his feet, and it was then I realised that I had been standing with a spoon in hand."Taylor? "We did not e
