Semua Bab Ex and Son Beg, But I Never Turn Back: Bab 501 - Bab 510

Luigi’s POVI woke up in complete darkness. Struggling, I realized that there was something over my head. Struggling to breathe, it felt like it was suffocating me. Frantically, I pulled it off. Then I glanced around.I was in the back of some sort of vehicle. Suddenly, it lurched to the left, causing me to slam against the wall. The scent of food filled my nose.It was hard to see, but there was enough light filtering in through the windows to make out the large sacks on the other side of me. Running my hand along one of them, I thought he felt rice. And in the other one, there was a stiff substance. Flour, perhaps? This was the food truck, I realized in horror. But what the hell was I doing in the back of the food truck? In the front of the vehicle, I heard two male voices. I couldn’t make out what they were saying above the music playing on the radio though. Straining to hear them, I quickly gave up.I had to figure out what was going on.With a profound sense of dread settling in,

Willow’s POV“Oh my god,” I said out loud, hanging up the phone. For a moment, I couldn’t even breathe. I felt the wind had just been knocked out of me. Clutching the phone in my hand, I glanced at the children. They were gathered around the kitchen table, coloring, waiting for the freshly baked cookies to come out of the oven.My heart was racing. One moment, I’d been happily making cookies for the kids while they colored. The next my phone rang. And now?Now I felt like my entire world was falling apart. Everything felt like it was moving in slow motion, like I was underwater. Struggling to breathe, I felt my chest squeezing. Knowing I was on the verge of having a panic attack, I took long, slow breaths to try and calm myself. “Adonis, Jay, Logan. Come here!” I said. But my voice was barely audible. So I tried again. I needed them, all three of them, right now, with me in the kitchen.“ADONIS!” I hollered. “JAY! LOGAN!”My voice came out as a panicked scream, causing all three chil

Willow’s POVLogan offered to drive, which suited me just fine. My hands were shaking like crazy and I didn’t trust myself on the road. Climbing into the car, we both strapped in and then took off down the driveway.Glancing at the kids in the back yard as we drove by, I placed my hand on the window. Adonis and Jay would look after them, but it hurt my heart to leave them like this.I had no idea what would happen once we found the unmarked white van. But I had a feeling that it would lead us to Luigi.“So, Ava called and said what?” Logan asked. Slowly and carefully, I repeated the conversation.“Ava knows he escaped then,” Logan nodded. “She must know more. It’s all very odd though, isn’t it?”Casting Logan a stern look, I shook my head. ‘Odd’ wasn’t exactly the word I would use to describe the situation.Luigi had escaped from prison and now Logan and I were on our way to find some sort of van. I was putting a lot of trust in Ava, just following her instructions blindly. But what el

Third Person POVGiulia slammed down the phone.“Urggggh,” she said loudly, gritting her teeth. She was not happy about the call she’d just received.Luigi had broken out of prison? That was the most infuriating thing she’d ever heard. How? Lugi was not capable of orchestrating something like that on his own.Which meant that he had outside help. But who?Giulia drummed her fingernails on the desk. Was it that meddling Willow again? Had she somehow found a way to bust Luigi out of jail? No, Giulia shook her head. That was impossible. Willow didn’t have those sorts of resources. It would take someone with a lot of power, someone with connections really high up to get an inmate out of prison.Someone like…Corloni? The thought hit her like a steel blade to the stomach. No. There was no way that Corloni had busted Luigi out of prison. Why would he do that?Sure, he’d said that Luigi was ‘untouchable’. But Giulia had covered her tracks. Corloni didn’t know that Giulia had any connections to

Third personGiulia was in the middle of handing out her weekly gifts to the girls when her phone rang. Seeing that the call was from Corloni, she paused, her hand held out, a sapphire necklace for one of the girls draped around her fingers.“Please excuse me,” Giulia said, tossing the necklace at the girl. Giulia hadn’t heard from Corloni in quite a while, so curious what the call could be about, she left the common room and answered the phone on her way back to her office.“Giulia,” Corloni’s voice came through the phone, authoritative as always. She heard him inhale a puff from his cigar and then blow it out in one long, steady stream. “You’ve done well with the brothel. Very well. I’d like you to come back to Italy for a meeting. I have a new business venture for you.”Opening the door to her office, Giulia smiled. A new business venture? Corloni didn’t know about her secret lab and her plans to create drugs. But the fact that Corloni was finally allowing her to leave the brothel w
