Once downstairs, Eliza goes to find Carlos in the cafeteria; he’s really leaning into his Mexican heritage at the moment. Carlos is an old Mexican man, wearing tired looking jeans, and a red checked flannel shirt and a white apron. He’s a nice guy, five-six, with darker tan skin, and a few wrinkles at the corners of his eyes that show his age. He has a grey moustache, short grey hair and dark brown eyes. He’s the chef here, and a marvellous one at that. He beams at her,“Hey, Boss.” His strong Mexican accent always made her feel warm and safe somehow, she smiles“Hey, Carlos. Eliza returns with a pile of sheets and pillowcases, and she and Ash quickly get to work, stripping the bed and remaking it. The sheets had been dark-grey with a white geometric design on them. Rather masculine in a way, but it suited her aesthetic. The new ones are a dark orange red, almost rust-coloured. But the duvet cover is fuzzy, like a fleece, but with squares shaved into it at regular intervals.
