The main door of the old house closed behind me with a heavy thud, like a prison door locking its prey in. I stood in the middle of a grand room with sparkling crystal chandeliers and cold marble floors.Andrew Bloodfang walked casually towards the large chair at the end of the room, sitting down with the air of a king receiving a guest or more accurately, a prisoner. Lilith stayed by my side, her hand still gripping my arm tightly."You don't need to be afraid. I won't hurt you. At least, not yet," Andrew said."What do you want?""Be patient, dear. We have plenty of time." He gestured to Lilith. "Let her go. She won't run. Besides, where would she go? The forest outside is full of hungry wolves."Lilith released my arm, but remained standing beside me, ready to grab me if I tried to escape. I stood still, trying to observe my surroundings, looking for an opening, looking for anything that could help me.Andrew rose from his chair and approached. I stepped back, but my back was alrea

Midnight.I sat in the corner of the room, hugging my knees, staring out the window at the perfectly round full moon. Outside, the howling of wolves sounded in turns, like a chilling choir that never ended.I had tried everything. The wardrobe in front of the door was too heavy to move by myself. The window only led to a deadly height and a forest full of wolves. My phone was dead, and there was no one I could contact.Just me and my fear.Suddenly, I heard a sound from outside the door. The smell of alcohol seeped through the crack under the door. The key turned. The wooden wardrobe was roughly shoved aside from the outside. I pressed myself against the wall, my heart pounding wildly, looking for anything I could use as a weapon. Beside me, an old flower vase—heavy enough. I grabbed it, hiding behind the curtain. The door opened.Andrew Bloodfang entered. He was fully dressed—an expensive shirt, dress pants, his hair neatly combed. But his eyes were red, his gaze unstable, and the sm

The car stopped in front of the apartment. Marcus looked at us through the rearview mirror, hesitating."Should I wait downstairs?"Gabriel nodded without speaking. He got out, helped me out, his hand still gripping mine tightly. But there was something different. I could feel it in his fingertips—his grip was no longer warm, but stiff, like a duty to be performed. In the elevator, he was silent. Normally he would kiss my forehead, or at least smile. Tonight he just stared at the changing floor numbers, his jaw tightening."Are you okay?" I asked."Tired."The apartment door opened. Gabriel entered first, turned on the lights, then stood in the middle of the room with his back to me.I took off my jacket, sat on the sofa, waiting. But he just stood there in silence."Gabriel?""Sera, there's something we need to talk about."I felt a bad premonition."About what?"He walked closer, but didn't sit beside me as usual. He sat in the chair across from me, keeping his distance."I've been

Two weeks later.Fourteen days without a word.I had gone back to college, trying to live a normal life. The gossip had gradually died down, one by one, drowned out by fresher news. Other students had started to forget about me, or at least pretend to forget. The lecturers were smiling again. Life was slowly returning to how it was before I fell in love with Gabriel. But my heart wasn't.Every night I checked my phone, hoping for a message. Every morning I woke up to the bitter reality: nothing. Only Marcus came by occasionally, bringing food, making sure I was okay. Unasked, unexpected, he came like a faithful, silent guardian."I'm fine," I said every time he asked. He never believed it, but he never pushed either.Today I decided I couldn't go on like this. I had to meet Gabriel. Not by phone, not by message. Face to face. I needed to hear an explanation from him directly, not from Marcus, not from anyone else.He owed me that.I stood in front of the building. The receptionist rec

I don't remember exactly when everything started to blur. What I remember are the empty bottles on the floor. The white pills I took, I don't know how many. The phone that kept vibrating with the name MARCUS on the screen. And an incredible pain in my chest, not from the pills, but from my shattered heart. Then everything went dark.I opened my eyes slowly. White light pierced my retina. The smell of medical alcohol and disinfectant filled my nose. The sound of a monitor beeping beside me.A hospital.I was still alive. My head was pounding violently, my throat as dry as a desert. There was an IV drip in my arm, an oxygen tube in my nose. My body felt so heavy, as if a mountain was pressing down on me.Then I saw him.Sitting on the chair next to the bed, wearing an expensive but slightly wrinkled suit, was Gabriel. His face was blank. No expression. His eyes were looking at me but seemed to look right through me.Behind him, standing in an elegant dress with a faint smile, was Rosali
