LyraThe fog was starting to clear off, and I could see the room more clearly now. I walked over to the man and searched his pockets, looking for any clues as to where the kids were being held. My wolf eyesight had served me well, allowing me to navigate the fog and take out the threats. As I searched the man's pockets, I found a keycard, phone and a small notebook. The keycard looked like it might unlock a door, and the notebook had some cryptic notes that might be useful. I tucked the keycard, phone and notebook into my pocket, my mind racing with possibilities.I waited for Albert and Emma to arrive, my mind racing with thoughts of the small notebook. Maybe I could find clues in it, and discover the location of more lab houses for hybrids or paranormal creatures. But before I could dwell on it further, Albert's voice cut through my thoughts. "Alpha Lyra, you summoned us?""Albert, you're coming with me to release the kids," I instructed. "Emma, take this man and tie him up in the v

LyraMy claws were practically extending to attack, my instincts on high alert. I couldn't take chances, not with my security system or my family. But as I prepared to defend myself, a familiar face emerged from the bushes. It was the same boy from the lab last night, his thin frame and enormous wide eyes still etched in my memory. His clothes were still slightly tattered, and I frowned, wondering why he wasn't in new clothes by now."What are you doing out here, little one?" I asked, trying to keep my tone soft. "And why aren't you with your mother?"The boy's eyes darted to my pups, and I could sense his fear. But he didn't back down. Instead, he took a step forward, his eyes fixed on me. My pups growled at him, their instincts on high alert. "No, mummy, he's a monster," Rowan said, blocking me and River too. "He might hurt you."I sighed, understanding their concern. Maybe locking them in the house all the time wasn't doing them any good. At least they should be comfortable with ki

LyraI stared at my uncle, my mind reeling with shock and anger. "So this is what you've been hiding?" I asked, my voice low and even, but filled with hurt and betrayal. "This is why you've been acting so shady and suspicious?"Gerald's expression was calm, but I could see the tension in his shoulders. Hell, I hated his cold attitude. "I was just trying to look out for you," he said, his voice soft. "After what they did to you... I know I should've told you, but I had to. You needed to heal."I felt a surge of anger at his words. "How long, Uncle?" I asked, my voice barely audible. "How long have you been hiding this from me?"Gerald's eyes flickered, and for a moment, I thought I saw a glimmer of guilt. "Six years," he replied, his voice low.I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. Six years? He'd been lying to me for six long years? I recoiled, feeling like I'd been struck by lightning. "Oh my God, Uncle," I said, my voice shaking with anger and hurt. "You had no right."As my guard

LyraI stood frozen at the entrance of the cave, my eyes adjusting to the gloom. The horrific scene before me made my heart wrench. The skeletal thinness of the figure, the matted hair, the smell of infection and long despair – it was a scene I never wanted to witness. My voice was a broken whisper. "Mother?"The figure in the cage flinched but didn't respond. I rushed forward, using my wolf strength to tear the rusted lock from the cage door. I knelt gently, reaching out. "Mother, it's me. Lyra. Your little girl."Elisa slowly lifted her head, her eyes clouded with confusion and trauma. She didn't recognize me before her. I leaned closer, a tear falling onto my mother's arm. "It's me."Finally, Elisa inhaled my scent – a blend of moon dust, red roses, and gems. And then a spark of life returned to her eyes.My mother's hands came up to shakily frame my face. "My... little baby girl?" she breathed, before her eyes rolled back and she collapsed from sheer physical and emotional exhaust

LyraI jerked up from my slumber, the memories of my mission still fresh in my mind. I didn't bother to change out of my clothes, still stained with the remnants of my battle. My room was a mess, an evidence to my loss of control. I whispered a soft "Oh" as I took in the destruction. My gaze fell upon my door, and I quickly unlocked it, dashing over to my pups' room. But they weren't there. A pang of worry shot through me. Where could they be? I thought of Uncle Gerald, and my heart skipped a beat. I rushed to his room, my bloody clothes sticking to my skin.As I entered his room, I saw them - my babies, sound asleep on Uncle Gerald's bed. Relief washed over me, followed by a wave of guilt. What if I had lost control completely? What if I had hurt them? I hated myself at that moment.I walked over to them, my footsteps quiet on the floor. River's eyes slowly fluttered open, and he looked up at me. "Mother, you're here?" he whispered, his voice groggy from sleep.I forced a smile onto
