Kira’s POVDarkness. It surrounded me. It wasn't the type of darkness that needs illumination..like literally. This one was more chilling…like there was some king of evil lurking around me, gripping my heart with dread and fear.I wasn’t running. I wasn’t even in my own body. I was floating behind everything like a ghost stuck in someone else’s nightmare, forced to watch but never able to touch or scream loud enough to change a single thing.A pregnant woman burst through the moonlit forest, branches slapping her face and tearing at her long white dress like claws. She was huge…belly round and heavy, one hand pressed tight against it as if she could shield the baby inside from the world. Her breaths came in ragged, terrified gasps. Sweat poured down her neck. Behind her, a pack of wolves exploded out of the trees…massive, red-eyed monsters with foam dripping from their jaws and snarls that shook the ground like thunder. Their eyes burned with pure hatred and the hunger to kill was

Kira’s POVThe second my eyes locked on the mirror, the world cracked open. There he was…standing right behind my reflection like he’d crawled straight out of the nightmare and into the glass. The man with the black rose burned into his back…the black rose that is identical to mine.Arrows were still jutting from his shoulder, his side, his chest. Blood poured down his naked skin in thick, glossy rivers, pooling at his feet. His face…God, his face…was twisted in agony so deep it didn’t even look human anymore. Eyes wide and black, mouth stretched in a silent scream that suddenly tore out loud enough to rattle the mirror.“COME FIND ME, CHILD!”I screamed with him. Our voices slammed together…mine high and broken, his raw and dying…and the sound bounced off the tiles like it wanted to shatter every bone in my body. His lips moved again, slower this time, begging through the blood bubbling on them.“Come… find me… Angela… please…”Angela? My mother? What?I couldn’t look away. I coul

Kira’s POVI stared at the phone screen with excitement, and the headline slapped me right in the face:ONLY DAUGHTER OF FREDERICK SUMMERS, MIRANDA SUMMERS, COMMITTED TO PSYCHE HOSPITAL AFTER BIZARRE DOG-KIDNAPPING RAMPAGEI didn’t freeze in shock.I burst out laughing so hard the phone nearly slipped from my hands.A loud, ugly, belly-deep cackle that bounced off the walls and made my eyes water exploded out of my throat. “Oh my God…yes!”Victoria grinned like she’d just handed me the winning lottery ticket. “I knew you’d love it! My mate showed me this morning…you know they had a thing in the past, and I literally couldn’t wait to show you. I told you the surprise was worth it.”I was already scrolling, my heart racing with the kind of wild glee that made my fingers shake. The article painted the whole insane picture… Miranda caught in the field at dawn, raging like a possessed lunatic. Was she unconscious till dawn? Was she that terrified?I couldn’t help but be proud of Leah. She

Adrian’s POVShe stormed in like a hurricane wearing crocs, and the bond between us lit up like a live wire. I almost started panicking, wondering what I did wrong, until I realized she wasn’t looking at me.I could feel hatred pouring off her in waves…hot, sharp, aimed straight at the two people on their knees like she wanted to set them on fire with her eyes alone. My wolf surged forward, chest rumbling with pride and something darker. Protect. Claim. Destroy whoever hurt her. If she wants them dead this instant, I could make it happen in a matter of seconds. I would do literally anything just to see her smile more.I watched her march right up to me, every step deliberate, that burgundy outfit hugging her curves like it was made to drive me insane. I expected some kind of outburst but instead, her voice flipped…sweet, girly, the kind of tone a girl uses when she’s talking to her crush and the whole world disappears.“Baby,” she cooed, “I missed you.”Baby?Me? She called me bab

Kira’s POVThe courthouse doors clicked shut behind us like the final note of a song I wasn’t sure I wanted to hear the end of. Less than fifteen minutes. In. Out. Legally bound.Adrian had shaken the judge’s hand…some silver-haired man who called him “Your Majesty” with the casual familiarity of an old poker buddy…and murmured something about finishing the rest of the paperwork and sending it straight to him. The judge had nodded once, eyes flicking to me with polite curiosity, then back to Adrian like he already knew the script. And just like that, my name was Kira Arabella Draven.I kept staring at the diamond on my left hand as we walked back to the car. Not the transfer documents anymore. The ring. Simple. Stunning. A single stone that caught every stray beam of light and threw it back like it was daring the world to look away. When the hell had he even bought this? Planned this? Was this the trap snapping shut, or had I just handed him the key myself?Leah groaned in my head,
