LIRA "I'm so sorry I'm late." After dealing with Thalrion and his silly order, I become completely irritated; I sit in the back of the car, one leg crossed over the other, watching the city blur past the tinted glass. Humans move around like nothing has changed. Like something ancient didn’t just try to recruit me into a war that will tear through everything they know. Ignorance. It must be… peaceful. “Are you going to tell them?” Aristotle’s voice cuts through the quiet. I don’t look at him. “Yes.” “You’re sure that’s wise?” Now I turn. “You think I’m afraid of them?” “No,” he says immediately. “Then what?” “I think,” he continues carefully, “that telling Evelessa anything right now… might escalate things.” I smile. Sharp. “Everything is already escalating.” “And I don’t like being the only one holding information.” He studies me. Knows better than to argue too much. Still tries anyway. “You burned his men,” he says. “I did.” “He sur

WILLOW "What exactly are you all even afraid of? , make a declaration that Evelessa is henceforth no longer the Queen of the sea and I, Willow of the Fae realm, am now Queen of the sea" An unusual silence falls in the meeting chamber as all the Elders and kingdom representatives sit in calmness while deliberating; I had called in a lot of favours and Facilities and promised a lot to get me here this day, and I must act fast before the Queen becomes fully aware of this coup. I will absolutely rule.Another wizard stands and addresses me; they simply refuse to learn their place. "Willow, you shouldn't drag us into your foolishness; this is considered treason if we get caught, and it's straight to the slaughters. My clan and I have no interest in the gifts you offer, and we'd rather be exempted from this arrangement." He stands and walks towards the exit, but before he could step out, "Desmidrum, accuche abolisia"..... He screams in agony as he is burnt to a crisp right before our ey

SEBASTIAN She tries to pull back, but my hand stayed firm on her hip as I persistently pulled her to myself ignoring her protests and not giving her a inch of breathing space to rethink us. "Sebastian, I’m not...” “Yes, you are,” I interrupt, my voice dropping lower, quieter, the kind of tone I used when I didn’t want her slipping out of my grip or side. “You’re exactly what you’ve always been when I’m near you; unsteady, helplessly in love with me with an irresistible pull and attraction to me. Her jaw tightened. “You don’t get to decide what I am or am not in your presence. I've done so well without you for years now, you lost the right to make demands of any kind the moment you stopped communicating two weeks after our mating” I tilted my head, eyes tracing the flush rising from her chest to her cheeks. “I don’t have to show you; you just showed me. For what it's worth, I know I was wrong, but we have too much together to simply walk away and if this is your aim taking low blows

ARENA“Mira what do you want?”I say her name before she even finishes stepping into the room. She pauses in annoyance.“You knew I was coming,” she says.“I always know when someone walks in thinking they matter more than they do.”A pause. She smiles.“You’ve gotten bold.”“No, I'm fed up with people's crap."She didn’t come here to talk. She came here to make a statement.I sit where I am because standing would imply effort, and she hasn’t earned that yet.“You’re in my way,” she says.I tilt my head slightly.“Am I?”“Yes.”“You should stay away from him."How… predictable.“Say his name,” I murmur. She doesn’t hesitate.“Thalrion.”The air shifts. Not because of him but because of what she just did.She doesn’t have the right.“You’re bold,” I say.“I’m honest.”Same thing people say when they don’t understand the difference.“He’s mine,” she continues. There it is.The word.Mine.“Yours,” I repeat.“Yes.”A pause.“And you need to leave him alone.”I don’t respond immediately.

EVELESSA “Stop looking like that.”Alexis’s voice pulls me out of my thoughts.I glance at her.“Like what?”“Like you’re expecting the ceiling to collapse.”“It could.”She rolls her eyes.“We’re in a store.”“Yes.”“A normal store.”“There’s no such thing.”She huffs.“You’re exhausting.”“And yet,” I say, picking up a top and inspecting it lazily, “you invited me.”“I didn’t invite you,” she mutters.“You followed me.”“Same difference.”She glares at me.I smile slightly.Because this? This is easy.Light.The kind of moment we don’t get often anymore.Shopping.Of all things.Clothes.People.Noise.Human.Safe.Or at least it should be.“You’re not even buying anything,” Alexis complains, flipping through a rack.“I’m observing.”“You’re judging.”“That too.”She shakes her head.“I should have brought Aretha.”“You’d still be annoyed.”“True.”A pause.“But at least she wouldn’t be staring at everyone like they’re potential threats.”“They are.”She groans.“Evelessa....”“Wai
