Plan B

RAPHEAL Today was plan B. And according to Serafina, we always had to dress the part. After spending two weeks together, getting to know ourselves and growing in our love for each other, I was more then convinced that she was my healing. A gift to crown all my sufferings and I would never give her up. As I stood by the furnace, taking a sip of my wine and smiling sheepishly at the memories we had created, I thought to cross check my fit again. She had picked out the wear for me and as someone with impeccable fashion taste, she really did well with sleek all-beige ensemble that featured an oversized structured blazer which I left open over a deep V-neck vest, mayching wide leg pants which fell elegantly over a polished black leather louboutin pair of shoes. After styling my long hair into a Korean wolf cut, I had fallen in love with my look. “Boss.” Ruben's voice rasped behind me with a slight bow, cutting through my thoughts. As I tur

Plan C

SERAFINA Our gray Mercedes AMG GLE 6s3 coupe came to a screeching halt in front of the 120 meters tall building, which stood as the headquarters of the Dekoms empire. Reporters immediately clamoured to our car, their camera flashing desperate lights at us, while their mouths moved frantically. Lifting the flap of my Kelly bag, I carefully reapplied my red lipstick and smacked my lips, all while Rapheal stared at me. I turned my face to various angles to be sure i got the look I wanted then ransacked my bag again and brought out a can of mint candies. “Do you want some?” I finally turned to him and grinned at the mischievous smile tugging at his lips. “Hmm?” “How do you always look this good?” He blurted and heat rose to my cheeks immediately. “Rapheal! Damn you need to focus.” If he was nervous, he sure had a good way of hiding it but his smile was proving my assumptions wrong. Unbuckling his seat belt, he leaned close to me until we were breaths

Doom

SERAFINA I saw her again. With a loud scream, I jerked from sleep with a thudding heart drenched in thick sweat. My tattoo was blinking frantically and my legs felt giddy. Tears quickly stung at my eyes and I felt the room closing in on me. For the third night in a row and since Rapheal left for Crusia, I had awoken from a terrible nightmare I couldn't remember, soaked in salty tears and sweat, misty fog at the balcony, thudding heart and the blinking of my rose tattoo like a broken alarm. I was grateful that he wasn't around to see me in such a bad state but I really could use his presence right now. For the next fifteen minutes, I struggled to decipher what I had dreamt about but it was futile. With a deep sigh, I slipped out of bed and headed to the bathroom to wash up. After a warm soak, I dried my body and put on a simple sweat pant and tank top. Pushing my hair up into a messy bun, I threw on a pair of glasses and headed downstairs. Like a routine I

Crusia syndicate

RAPHEAL When the car pulled up at the foot of the building, a group of uniformed people approached us with stiff smiles. Taking our hands for a series of handshakes, they introduced theirselves as the stewards that would handle Ruben and I during our stay, but I wasn't interested in spending another day away from Serafina. Two days were already enough and I was slowly loosing touch of reality, with my thoughts drifting back to her body and her lips every second. As they led the way, Ruben trailed behind me, a small briefcase in his grasp. Instead of taking the normal elevator, the head steward whom his name turned out to be Ben Lee, led us to the private elevator by the end of the hallway. I remembered the first and only time I had visited this hotel as a kid. Then, my dad had certain crises in his business and opted that I had gone with him. At the age of nine, I was too oblivious to know why my dad took me to them. But years later when they began reaching to

At her mercy

RAPHEAL Background song: flames by Donzell Tarrgart She was waiting for as long as I was and immediately the car pulled into the vast compound, she ran out from the building. Quickly, I alighted and caught her figure, twirling her around and took her lips in for a sweet passionate kiss. God! I missed this so much. She kissed me back with urgency and desire, grooming my tongue and lower lips while my hands roamed her bare back and ample butts. Though we had been on the phone all through my drive back home after my chopper landed, any other person would think we hadn't seen each other in ages. Even Ruben's throat clearing didn't stop our little reverie and when we finally pulled out, we were almost out of breath. I carefully scanned her double coloured eyes, to her yellow tank top that hugged and revealed a nice portion of her boobs and tattoo. Her lips moved and muttered inaudible words but I wasn't fazed by them. My eyes were glued to the fair peaches before me. I wondered

A club night

SERAFINA There were two kinds of dangerous men in this world. The ones who knew they were monsters. And the ones who loved so deeply they would willingly walk into hell with a smile in their faces. The city lights blurred beneath the tinted windows as I leaned against Rapheal's shoulders, lazily tracing invisible shapes on his palm. And when my eyes wandered, I caught his eyes dragging slowly over my body, filled with enough hunger to burn cities down. “You're staring again,” I murmured. He smirked. “Can you blame me? That silver dress on you should be illegal.” I glanced at the choice I made just at the last minute when Ruben informed me of Don Columbus' whereabouts. I had to play my cards again just before tomorrow. My eyes rolled before I could stop them. “You're being dramatic.” He planted a kiss on my bare shoulder. “Let me.” So I did. My mind was more focused on the pending matters. “You look too stressed for this, Rapheal.” I

Little refreshment

SERAFINA I took one last glance at the mirror where my reflection appeared in two states, a woman dressed in a sleek chocolate brown long-sleeved high-neck top with an asymmetrical button down design, paired with wide-leg trousers, a cream handbag and cream pair of slingbacks. The second state was a dark shadow stretching across the room with long wings and a sword dripping with blood. My days were counting down and I had just three days to leave Rapheal. But I wasn't going to dwell in that. I had to make sure everything went well so that I could leave him with a small sense of appreciation. Styling my hair which was increasing with each passing second into a high ponytail, I retouched my lipgloss, picked the car keys and headed downstairs. Just by the winery, our eyes met and locked with each other. He was dressed in the white pinstripe suit I had selected for him. With its wide peak lapels, gold button, flap pockets and matching trousers which he wore ove

Kill or be killed

SERAFINA. Kill or get killed.. My spine froze from the coldness of the air that hit us as we stepped into the conference room, which was a massive auditorium situated at the heart of the hotel. It was designed into a descending semi-circular structure with rows of cushioned seats where the reporters were seated. Office chairs and a mahogany table were also arranged on the stage where the board members sat like defendants in a court case, scrutinizing Rapheal and I. But every other image blurred as my eyes fell on Delanxy who wore a vicious grin on her face. Her navy blue blazer gown clung to her like a second skin, highlighting her curves, well toned legs and black knee high boots. Though she let her hair down, they couldn't cover the wickedness laid on her face. And if it couldn't get better, our seats were opposite each other. As if sensing it, Rapheal pulled my hand a bit while we strode to our seat. Thankfully, his own was next to mine. “Here comes the cou

Fear for her

RAPHEAL.Background song: My tears ricochet by Taylor Swift. She had done more harm than good. But knowing Serafina, that smug look on her face was proof enough that she wasn't one bit regretful of the fact that she had put herself in harm's way. For all I care, Delanxy might have stabbed her or did something more outrageous. This woman would really be the end of me. If it was other times, I might have downplayed it but not today. My eyes were already blazing with anger on how morally grey she could be sometimes. So she had better had an explanation instead of an attitude. Her cream bag was slung over my shoulders, as I gripped her wrist and practically dragged her back to our private room, ignoring the curious stares from the people around. God I hated to confront her. “So?” I arched a brow at her after shutting the door behind me, finally able to face her since that rukus. “So what Rapheal?” She rolled her eyes. Riled the more, I tightened my sq

Warning

SERAFINA. Your instincts can sense when something is about to happen to you. I had already sensed mine on my way home after fighting with him. While the sudden blurry vision from tears, aching heart and muffled scream was expected, the dark presence that chilled my spine wasn’t. By the time I had gotten home, it had etched so deep I didn't notice the lights that didn't come on, when I yelled Alexia. I was so deep in guilt until I laid down on my bed after a warm bath, only to see the shadow lurking above me. My eyes flashed bright red but I wasn't swift enough. He already had my throat. Thrashing was useless. I felt his power all over me. For a while, I wished the spirit would just take me. At least that way, the guilt I felt would disappear. But I knew better.. Missioniers never died unless they were killed by the guardian. This was simply torture. For my unruly actions. And I gladly accpeted my punishment which drifted me into a
