“Nichole! The test confirms you are 3weeks pregnant!”“What? Pregnant?”I had a flutter immediately in my stomach, not the baby, but the excitement when I heard the news.My trembling hands caressed my belly, joy swelling in my heart. The test results were real!I will soon be a mother.I am pregnant. With my child.I saw the heartbeat flickered on the screen, a tiny life pulsing inside of me and for the first time in so long, I felt a little hope.I hope that things will change now. This news could be the miracle that could fix my broken marriage. Maybe, just maybe, Donald would look at me with love again after countless of heartbreaks from the man I call by husband. This has been my long expected wish. For a heartbeat, I couldn’t breathe. I just stared at the x-ray screen, blinking through tears. “I’m Pregnant?” I whispered again, afraid the word would vanish if I said it too loudly.“I can't wait to break the news to him”I left the doctor’s office holding the ultrasound printout al

(Xavier's Pov)“Get me the car keys!”Xavier's calm but commanding tone got the chief guard into tremendous fear of obedience, as he fumbled towards his boss, rushing with his car keys. Xavier took the keys from him. His tone wasn’t raised, it didn't have to be as authority dripped from it, the kind that made people move faster without understanding why.The doors of the mansion swung open as he strode out, tall and broad-shouldered, tailored to perfection. His black suit clung to him perfectly, the faint scent of his expensive cologne trailing the aurHis black Mercedes Maybach purred awake as he slipped inside it, his one hand gripping the wheel with his custom Vacheron wristwatch, the other on the gear shift.“I will drive myself today. Get yourself busy with other things” He ordered, as his driver stepped backward with his head bowed. He dared not look at him.Xavier Blackwood doesn't chase schedules, schedules obey him. “Nichole!!”Xavier jerked up immediately from his sleep as his head snapped back from the chair where he had dozed off. His eyes fluttered, and for a moment he didn’t recognize where he was. Pacing his eyes around ...and then he realised it was just a dream. His gaze fell on Nichole immediately as she lay motionless, frail and pale, yet stunning even in unconsciousness. Her eyelashes rested lightly on her cheeks, her lips slightly parted and her breathing gentle. Her hair which was once meticulously styled, now lay in soft waves across the pillow. The oversized hospital gown looked big on her, making her look smaller than ever before. Since yesterday Nichole hasn't moved or woken up. Xavier watched her helplessly, leaning back on his chair, his elbows resting on his knees. How he longed for her to open her eyes. He was deeply afraid of losing her to the cold hands of death after the accident. He had never been a man of prayer, but quietly inside his mind he found himself pleading. “G
