SYLUSMy index finger stretched out my collar. I was almost tempted to pull down on my tie, string it loose, and pluck off my buttons. I looked down at the steps attached to the aeroplane as I stepped down one by one, holding onto the rail. My eyes fell on two familiar faces dressed in black, and the moment I got down to the floor with them, they both welcomed me.“Welcome back, Mr. Sylus. How was your trip to Springville?” they muttered.“Could have been better,” I said, tilting my head toward Nellie as she nodded, going through her tablet and preparing to read me my schedule. She looked exhausted, but the moment I shared a glance with her, her exhaustion seemed to disappear. We walked away from the gates and into the airport. My eyes roamed around, but there wasn't a single sight of a paparazzo.I looked over at Nellie. “Why isn't anyone here?” I asked, and she looked mortified, surprised herself.“I... I don't know,” she stuttered. “I was sure to have phoned one or two to show up.”
