When I returned to the villa with the potion, Sebastian was already at the dining table eating breakfast. He frowned when he saw me walk in from outside. "You've been getting more and more out of control lately. Staying out all night now?"A Luna should be poised and dignified. Look at you, still acting like a child."I said nothing and hung my coat on the rack.My sleeves were still damp with morning dew from the forest. If he had bothered to look at me closely, he would have noticed the mud caked on the soles of my shoes. It hardly looked like I had been out partying all night.I sat down at the table, staring at the breakfast that had long since gone cold. I took a bite of the fried egg."I think it's time I taught you the basics of being a Luna. Your behaviour has been getting worse by the day. You actually stayed out with your friends all night."He finished the last bite on his plate and wiped the grease from the corner of his mouth, his tone carrying a lecturing edge."I'm worki

A week ago, I was attacked by a rogue while I was out. I survived, but I was left with injuries all over my body.During that week in the hospital, Sebastian only dropped by to check on me now and then before leaving with the excuse that he had work.So while I had been fighting for my life, he was busy planning a trip with another woman.Three days later, Sebastian came home. Unlike before, I didn't help him out of his coat or bring him water. After he settled in, he looked at the empty dining table and frowned."Why didn't you make dinner?""You came home too late. I already ate," I replied. His frown deepened."I just got back from a three-day business trip, and you couldn't even make me dinner? What kind of Luna does that?""The housekeeper can cook for you.""Chloe, what the hell's gotten into you these past few days?" he demanded."Every time I text you, you're cold. I ask what you want, and you won't tell me. And now you won't even cook for me."And now you won't even cook.""Yo

The moment the plane landed, I spotted a familiar figure in the crowd."Elena!" I called out to her warmly. She smiled and took the suitcase from my hand."I'm so excited that you accepted my invitation. The top student in our School of Pharmacy is finally joining my company."Three months earlier, I'd received an invitation from Elena, a senior from my university. She had just founded a pharmaceutical company and wanted me to come work for her, offering a generous salary. But at the time, all I could think about was building a life with Sebastian, so I turned her down.Even after that, Elena reached out several more times, but I never gave her a definite answer.Until I saw the moonstone necklace Sebastian had given Vivian on her Instagram.Only then did I realize that everything I had been holding onto meant nothing to Sebastian.I reached out to Elena again and accepted her offer. This job gave me the courage to walk away.Elena arranged an apartment for me. It was small but cosy, a

Suddenly his phone rang.Thinking I had changed my mind, he answered excitedly."Alpha, all the paperwork for the Luna's departure from the pack has been processed. Is there anything else you need us to handle?"Sebastian was bewildered. "What departure? Who left the pack?"The officer repeated cautiously, "The... the Luna."Sebastian's eyes went wide. He had assumed that even if I broke the mate bond, I would at least stay in the pack. And as long as I was in the pack, he would find me eventually. He never imagined I would actually leave the pack entirely."Who approved her departure? How could you make that decision on your own?"They had never seen the Alpha this furious. The clerk on the other end was trembling. "During that period, you delegated some of your authority to the Beta. She was the one who approved it."Vivian?Something clicked, and he immediately sent Vivian a mind-link.The moment the link connected, Vivian's irritated voice came through."Where did you go? How could

He gripped my hand, and his tears finally fell. "Chloe, I'm sorry. I know I was wrong. After you left, I realized how much I love you. I can't get used to life without you. Please come back. I'll treat you twice as well, I promise."I yanked my hand free and took a step back."You don't love me. You just can't stand losing the maid who took care of you. Leave. I don't want to see you right now."I walked around him and headed straight home.He followed me to my apartment but didn't come upstairs. He stood outside all night. The next morning when I left for work, he was gone. After Sebastian left, my life settled back into peace. For a long time after that, I heard nothing from him. Then one day, I came across a news article on my phone. Sebastian had fallen into a deep depression. He had neglected the pack for so long that everything had begun to fall apart. One pack after another ended its partnership with his. Projects ground to a halt, and the pack sank deep into debt. The pack memb
