The Guardian Rogue의 모든 챕터: 챕터 11 - 챕터 20

“Mimi, what can I get you to eat? You need to take your medicine, and the bottle says to take it with food,” Nyla said as she sat in the chair beside Mimi’s. “I’m not hungry, and I don’t need those pills,” Mimi insisted. “I need my Krista home where she’s safe.” “I promise you that we are doing what we can to bring her home safely,” Harrison said, trying to stay calm. He was angry. He wanted to yell and take out his frustrations, but taking them out on Mimi would do far more harm than good. She was scared and sick. He wanted to help her, and the only way to do that was to bring Krista home. Harrison sighed and continued, “Mimi, if you don’t eat or take your medicine, what do you think Krista will say when she gets home? She will be mad at all of us, and from what I have seen of her, she is tough. I don’t want her mad at me.”Mimi gave a single dry laugh and said, “She is tough. She always has been. I know you are trying to bring Krista home, and I know I need to eat and take my me

For the next hour, Hayden learned everything about Krista from her grandmother, Mimi. Krista’s phone had been left behind, and the battery had died, so Hayden used that time to charge it enough to go through it in search of anything that might give a clue where Krista had been taken. While all this was happening, Nyla would wait for Hayden to empty his plate, then promptly replace it with a full one. The first time this happened, Mimi smiled at the Luna’s loving gesture for her brother-in-law, but by the third time, Mimi was openly laughing about it. Hayden even chuckled when Nylas put the third plate of lasagna and sides in his hands.Hayden looked at Nyla and said, “Ny, I know you want me to eat so my wolf and I are ready to rescue Krista, but if you keep feeding me, you are going to put me into a food coma.” Hayden looked past Nyla to where Harrison sat and said, “Tell her, Harry. I don’t have time for a food coma right now.”“Fine. Eat that, and I won’t refill it,” Nyla said. She

Hayden was halfway between Blood Moon and the cabin he had found pictures of on Krista’s social media. He pulled into a convenience store to top off his gas tank and stretch his legs. Hayden swiped his card at the pump and filled the tank as he leaned against the SUV.He kept thinking about the information Liam had given him before he left Blood Moon. They had used video collected throughout the pack, along with blood samples and fingerprints found inside Mimi’s house, to confirm that Justin had taken Krista and what vehicle he was driving. Before he continued to the cabin, Hayden needed to call the Alpha of Blue Mountain. Harrison had assured Hayden he would call the Alpha, which was good, but Hayden needed to speak with him too. He wanted to make it clear to the Alpha what had happened and that Justin would be severely punished for taking Krista. The gas pump kicked off, making Hayden flinch. He was so engrossed in his thoughts that it surprised him. That made him stifle a growl of

Hayden crept from one window to the next, studying the interior of the cabin. He needed to learn as much as possible about what was inside before he entered. He was looking for doorways, weapons, and any additional people who might be inside. Thankfully, the floor plan seemed relatively open, with only a bathroom separated from the rest of the house. He could only see and smell Krista and Justin, which would make things easier. The only thing that had Hayden on edge was seeing Krista in obvious distress. He heard her tell Justin her head hurt, and the way she sat showed she was physically uncomfortable. It made Hayden wonder why her wolf was not healing her. He had to fight a growl as he questioned whether Justin had given her something to suppress her wolf. Hayden considered waiting longer so the team from Blue Mountain would be closer, but as he watched Krista, he knew that wasn't an option. She was in obvious pain, which made his wolf, Eclipse, whimper in his head. Krista’s woun

Hayden was yawning as the main gates of Blood Moon came into view. He had driven straight through from the cabin, only stopping long enough to get gas and pay at the pump. He had thought about going inside for some coffee, but from the snares Eclipse produced in his head, he opted to skip it and drink one of the canned coffees that had been packed in the cooler. He glanced back at Krista, who had peacefully slept the entire trip. She stirred a few times to shift slightly, then fell right back asleep. The air mattress had done its job, making the trip comfortable for her by buffering the bumps in the road. Hayden tapped his phone, mounted on the dash. The screen lit up, showing the call ready to connect with Harrison. It was a trick he had learned years ago to save time and lessen the time his eyes were off the road. Hayden dialed as he drove into Blood Moon. "Are you here?" Harrison asked after only one ring. "We just entered the pack. I am taking Krista straight to the hospital.
