CHAPTER 1 

"I was said to have been born with metaphysical abilities in the year 1994. One my late mother addressed as "The Celestial spark." Although at my nineteenth birthday, I happened to come across a note she left behind before her uncertain death which occurred not long after we moved to Venezuela from New Orleans. Precisely four years ago. 

In her note, she stated and in her voice ringing in my head, it was read out :

"Dear John, do not hate me for this. Forgive me for hiding the truth from you all these while. This is something you obviously found after my death. 

(Paragraph) I don't know what best way to say it to you but, you are not a fruit of my womb. You aren't my son.

You were given to me by a lady who saw me worthy of taking care of you. She said to me that she had to save lives and while she was at it, I needed to save yours, for your future is the spark, your spark, the spark of a new creation. 

Hate me not but heed my word, fight the darkness rising and never give up."

First Person Narrative

John

Present Date; 2014

I knew there was a Chaos seed implanted in me, an ability to drive destruction and order. Like my mother aforementioned, the spark of breath and essence, the spark of sentience, the spark of greatness. The spark of limitless uniqueness and the spark of life but I turned the tables over and chose how I saw myself, how I saw it all, and I reaffirmed, I called myself and my gift the spark that beholds the antiquity of foreordination, the spark of creation and destruction, the spark of doom and cataclysm, the spark of "Apocalypse And Of Chaos."

With all the power I beheld, just a single gaffe sent me on a whole different path, a mistake that poured sand, ashes and liquor upon my spark. And a path that occurred faster than it could have been said or penned down. Little did I realise all these were just the spark of a new life but before it all, comes the spark of Apocalypse and the downfall of the supernatural beings.

Chaos And Apocalypse 

Chapter 1

I thought I was living the life which seemed like a blessed crumb to a hungry bird, I thought I had it all, even though I had no father--I was grateful for all, until my mom died. Now it feels like I have nothing. At this moment if I am being told that Life behold no meaning, I'd comply and agree with the statement. 

However when all seemed lost, there was one person who was by me. One person who I was sure that I could confine in. A best friend, Khloe Dave. One who knows it all, one who is aware of the gift I have, but not aware that the spark I thought I controlled is starting to quench, for a reason that I cannot remember.

2014

Venezuela, Caracas

Unspecified Building

John's House; Room

The sun was seen making its way through the glassy windows of my undressed room, reflecting on the mirror opposite the window, thus causing a glazing rainbow reflection. 

From the best where I laid, I dropped my feet to the floor as I tried reaching for my slipper. Suddenly I felt like I was being drained. I felt everything fading off. I felt my vein run dry of power. 

I had this feeling of a drastic weakness and biting pain around my body as I sat upright on my bed. It felt like I had been hit with a metallic object on the head. I desired to see but my eyes couldn't comply with my wishes as what I saw was unexpectedly blurry. 

The strange effect suddenly phased off as I gazed at the reflection of myself in the mirror. I drove my right fingers through my hair and I watched this with my half opened eyes. 

When I was aware that I saw a thick goo flowing down from my nostrils and reaching for medial cleft, my eyes suddenly widened up. I was unaware of such situation and I had no idea of what this was. I touched it with my index finger and realised that it was blood. 

I hastily got up from the bed and when I did so, I felt myself lose all stamina. It felt like my muscles were being drilled and my bones were breaking to a thousand pieces. I struggled to keep it up, to keep myself alive but it was to no avail. I lost it as my eyes closed up to a misty sight. 

Hours Later;

I opened up my eyes to my mobile device ringing right by my side. I had no idea how long it had been but the sun had started to fall. 

I picked up my phone and crawled to rest my back on my bed. I played the messages which caused the ringing and vibrations. 

I could hear Khloe yelling from the other side of the phone. It wasn't a live call, these were voice messages. Apparently, she had called multiple times but at the time which she did, I had my body laying comatose. I thought I died, but someone I woke up.

The whispers of rubbish filled my ears as I struggled to listen to what Khloe had to say. 

It felt like the voice which whispered was all around me. I couldn't hear anything other than whispers and from the ghost whisper sounds which I heard, nothing meaningful was to make for it.

I tried to listen carefully to the voice note of Khloe but suddenly, out of the phone which I held, the following was said and this wasn't the voice of Khloe. 

"The doom of all man and all supernatural creatures is by the cause of your hand, you have plagued the world, John Ozais Screeman." 

The voice I heard was masculine and just after he was done speaking, the voice note went on, the horrific ambience vanished and the ghost whispered cleared. It was like what happened now, never happened at all. 

The voice note which I suddenly played on was about how Khloe passed her college exams. 

The act which recently occurred brought shock to me by all possible means. I stood up instantly, walked hastily to the mirror and faced it the opposite way. Towards the curtain of my room, my steps were made clear. I closed the windows and the curtain, thus preventing further light from penetrating into the room.

I watched the very edges of my room horrifically as I slowly picked up the phone. I made a quick call to Khloe's number and all that I said to her was ;

"We need to meet! Now." 

The tone wasn't pleasant, nothing at this moment seemed to be because I felt like I was being haunted, not by just a demon, at all. I felt two forces reaching towards and for me, and the both were opposing each other. 

Said by the narrator and manifested in the scene, the lights faded. 

Moments Later;

Narration;

John is seen walking into a park in the city, Caracas. One which seemed comparable to the NewYork Central Park. His eyes roaming around every bench and every side walk as he searched for Khloe. 

"So what exactly is your excuse for missing my calls." 

A feminine voice uttered from behind. 

Khloe caught up to my steps as we both walked together.

"You look nice today." I said to her,  complementing her leader jacket and free jean. She turned over, throwing daggers at me from her light hazel eyes.  

She frowned, having a joke like expression marked on her face--awaiting me to say something else. 

"I think I am behind called by the source of my power, Khloe." 

I said to her tuning my voice lower. My eyes still roaming around in search of anyone who might be eavesdropping. 

"These supernatural forces are getting stranger and stranger and …" 

I didnt have my words complete before I was dragged by Khloe to keep moving. 

The scene transits as Khloe and John were now sitting on a bench which was positioned before thick bushes. 

"It all started when I got up from bed." I heard this voice...whispering nonsense to my ears. I could not comprehend its words or catch its phrases."  

I said. 

I tapped in to remember as I continually detailed. 

"The doom of all man and all supernatural creatures is by the cause of your hand, you have plagued the world, John Ozais Screeman." 

I remembered one of the words I heard as I explained it to Khloe. Suddenly I felt the change of ambience. Everywhere got calmer, the noises dialed down and I could hear myself louder. 

"The voice I heard threatened me." "It said that I am responsible for the destruction of man and my kind, that is if there are more out there apart from myself." I said to Khloe as she had a curious and confused expression on her face. 

Her brows drew closer by her frown, thus almost knitting. 

"Chaos shall befall man kind, and death shall be the fate of those you love." 

I remembered another of its words, one which was rooted in my head for me to remember but I by no means can remember such words being said the first time. 

"John!" A dark voice called.

I suddenly felt myself out of the position where I was. Before me stood a colossal board and behind the board was the universe, before the board was I. The writings I saw on the board were not in any language I was familiar with. To english, they seemed like symbols. 

"John!" The voice called again, this time darker and more fierce. I heard it from the both sides of my head. I couldn't fix the sound to the left or right. 

"Your fate awaits you, you shall battle death." 

This time the voice I heard was lighter. It seemed like a dozen souls speaking in unity. each having the same characteristic voice. A screeching voice of an old lady. 

"John." I heard my name once more as I was drawn out of the reality I just saw myself in. The voice that my brain processed this time was Khloe's.

The expression on her face became more concerning at this moment. 

The ambience faded off and I came back to myself sweating profusely. I realised that from all I had been saying, only a fraction Khloe did hear. The rest, were just not spoken out. This had never occured before. 

"We need to get going John, I think I understand your explanation." 

Khloe stood up instantly as she held me up. On walking out of the park, I looked back to the bench where I just stood up from, for a reason I couldn't understand. I didn't forget anything on the bench but I looked back. And when I did, my eyes were fixed on the bushes. A bloody beast rested there and had its head sticking out. It was horned and it stank of demonism, corruption and evil. It had its eyes on me just as I did. This seemed to have just occured to me as Khloe didn't look behind, as we left the park, I could feel myself being at the best moment since the day started. 

With the mindset that I was alright, I nevertheless wanted to try out something.

This was few meters away from the park now, I saw a dustbin right outside a restaurant. The windows were darkened, p'rhaps, they wouldn't be able to see what I was about to do, the people inside to be precise. 

"What are you doing John?" Khloe stopped and asked. 

I replied her with no words rather with an action. She could see as I struggled and pushed out alot of power just to lift an empty waste can few inches above ground level without my hands. 

She looked closer at my face and when I realised I could do it, when I realised I still was getting weaker, I broke out angrily. 

"Stop freaking looking at me."  

Out of my frustration,I  yelled at her as the veins in my neck were pushed out even more.

She blinked trice before she mumbled saying ;

"John, you..you're bleeding." 

I had the index of my left hand touching my philtrum and she was right. I was actually bleeding from my left nostril.

Khloe blinked once more before apologizing and walking away.

"Sorry, this is a bad idea." 

She said as she turned over. I could feel how she wanted to help but I pushed her away. 

"Khloe!" "I called." 

I kissed my teeth and quickly glanced at the wastebin and back at the road which she trailed upon. 

She stopped when she heard her name. I managed to catch up with her and apologized for my rude act.

"Latest, can I spend the night at your place till I figure out what is wrong with me?" 

After my apologies, I asked calmly.

"Sure, why not." Said Khloe with a wide and happy smile. 

She is a really cheerful person. Seeing her get in emotions breaks me completely. I said to myself.

"You're welcome to stay." She replied with her eyes fixed in mine. 

The scene ended as the evening light got engulfed by darkness. 

"Midnight Alas, the hours of trepidation." A narration voice spoke.

"There is no inbetween, between dreams and nightmares, other than reality, there is no in between between life and death apart from accomplishing cursed destiny, at this moment I think I just happened to be in something worse than the reality, a haunting fate destined for my ages, my ephialtes." 

These were words that were spoken in my mind and heard aloud, it was by my voice, I narrated my actions as they occured. 

The Other Side by Ruelle harmonically played into the scene. 

As it seems, I suddenly felt myself, in an upright position, with my eyes closed. It seemed like I had been stung by a paper wasp and the sleep that veiled my misty eyes suddenly faded. I spread my eyelids as my eyes saw--and my body felt that I was seemed unable to feel, move or express. All that I could do was stare and what I saw would be what will haunt my youth days. 

I stared at my arm, my palm, my hand and my fingers. I dropped my hand and looked at my feet and as I saw, I had a transparent look. This behind me could be seen through my body. I looked forward from my body, before myself to be precise, behold, I saw my body, the foil which inhabits my power, the apparel of existence which wrapped my soul and living on the bed which I laid on. It indeed was lifeless. 

The more I looked the more I saw. My surrounding was discoloured. Everything lacked the definition of reality as what I saw were all in a black and white colour.

Suddenly just as I desired to turn this astral form of mine over, a bright light which hurt my open and naked eyes fashioned upon me. The light I saw had no source. It was just there, springing out of nowhere and getting brighter the more I struggled to look. In its midst I could see colors.  It was like a fractional reflection of light on a prism, it was like the glowing aura of a halo. I admired what I saw and next that occured was pain. 

It was like my body shredding to millions of pieces. It was like torment but I saw nothing physical tormenting me. The pain I was about to feel was one which never in my twenty year old life have I experienced before. 

I felt a heavy pang right on my chest, in the midst of my breast. I felt the heart of my physical body beat no more, I could feel my ribs crack and my lungs get punctured. I could feel my organs tearing themselves apart and just then, I saw waves of light in an array of colors as I travelled through them at a speed no thing that is living could comprehend. I was just as weak at this moment and decided. I tried to keep myself awake through what ever process this was but the force I felt was powerful. 

The pain I felt suddenly stopped and I realised I wasn't dead. At least, not yet.

It occured to me that I was being coaxed by something powerful, or someone p'rhaps. I opened my eyes and the first thing those hazel balls saw was the green field I appeared in. I was on the floor of this field which I have no idea how I got to. I took my stamina to my feet and had the warm evening and setting sun shining on my pale skin.

I slowly swiveled around where I happened to be and just behind me stood a being. This creature I saw was clothed in a white garment, with golden linens around the wrist and the neck of his apparel. He radiated waves is energy and power as they rotated around his body from his under arm acroas to his chest. The energy which moved around this creature formed an X. He had a crown made of the stars and he faced the opposite direction, staring at another sun as it turned out to be, a rising sun that its half was scattered around the deep blue morning clouds. 

It was quite sudden as he spoke boldly with a voice like angered wild animals and the roars of a storm thunder. His voice was still and clear only when concentrated on and when not, it sounded like previously described. Just as he spoke, my heart clenched.

"Now, you are indebted with the mission to find the seven souls and restore your gift, the celestial spark, this your beginning to rewrite your destiny." 

These were the words that were uttered of the lips of this very undefined being. 

Just after he was done speaking and was about to turn over to me, I woke up in another dream, a different nightmare, a different vision, what ever this was--not even having the chance to see who the creature was or even question his statement. 

"I was struck by curiosity and how he knew of the word 'Spark..-' only my foster mother addressed my ability as the spark."

I glanced around and studied the surrounding. I had a deja vu like I had been here before. Suddenly, I realised that this was an exterior view of my bestfriends house. From what I saw, rather than a setting sun, I got a reddish purple sky with nothing around it. No sun, no star, no moon, not even a soul was around me and no sound was heard in this world.

I yelled at the top of my voice:

"Hello." 

Rather than having a response, I listened to the multiple echoes of my voice down the empty street.  

"John!"

A bold voice called out. The voice which I heard sounded familiar. It sounded like the creature I saw earlier. Just as I turned over to see who spoke, I saw the figure standing right before me. I gasped with my eyes widened.

And the narrator took upon the last second of the scene to speak ;

"And this was where it came to an end. The lights faded." 

Light fades.

A bestfriend, Khloe Dave, that knows pretty much everything about me. But not that the spark I thought I had, is starting to quench, for a reason I cannot seem to remember.

John's House; Room

The sun was seen making its way through the glassy windows of my undressed room, reflecting on the mirror opposite the window. I tried reaching for my slippers from the bed at it was at that moment I felt everything fading off. My energy, the power, my spark.

I had this weird feeling of drastic weakness and pain around my body as I sat upright on my bed and stared at myself in the mirror. The reflection of my rough white hair, yes white, (that's what you get for being unique and rare as they say) and half opened eyes sickened me. Starring closely at myself through the mirror, I saw some thick dark liquif flowing down my nostrils, my blood to be precise. I suddenly lost stamina and I fell on my bed, and closed my eyes to the misty sight. 

On the other hand, Khloe, my best friend who applied for a fashion college few days ago got in. She called me to inform me about it but I...I was still lying comatose at the time she'd call.

When I woke up, I found a voice mail from Khloe about her pass on how she got in. I called and asked if we could meet at some juncture, maybe a park or something, which she agreed to after yelling and yelling at me for not calling her sooner to congratulate her.

Few moments later, hours to be precise, we met at a park and I applauded her on her huge pass first of all and then brought up the topic about what happened earlier. 

I talked about my power fluctuation and we took it to trial after a brief moments of arguing. We walked out the park which inhabited a number of kids and their parents along side some pretty trees and bushes I couldn't even name, (as a drop out, school didn't seem like the right place for me), still talking about it and ready to go back home. On our way home, Khloe's house precisely, I tried making use of my abilities to lift a waste bin we saw by the side of the street, but I felt the blood oozing from my nostrils, flowing down.

"Wow, this is really bad, right?" Asked Khloe, peering around us to know if anyone saw anything.

I starred daggers at her before cleaning the blood that made its way for my lips after it successfully flowed down my medial cleft. 

"Every problem must have a source..." "...and yours as well must do." "So what did you commit?" She furrowed her brows at me, waiting for me to say something.

Before I replied her I saw something, starring at me from the thick bushes close to the park entrance. It was horned and looked like a devil that had been drowned in blood. "I don't know," "you know what, we'll talk about this later." I said veering at the tree and back to Khloe, crinkling my brows in confusion of what I saw. "I think I'm gonna spend the night at your house." I said, peering at the area I just saw the beast. I suddenly started feeling extremely tired already, still had no idea of what I saw but I....I had to set that aside, it is probably lack of rest.

"You're welcome to stay." Khloe said expressing a welcome gesture with her hands stretched apart and she walked backwards on the feeder roads.

Midnight

Khloe's House

There is no inbetween, between dreams and nightmares, other than reality, at this moment I think I just happened to be in something worst than the reality, my ephialtes. 

As it seems, I suddenly felt myself, in an upright position, with my eyes closed. It seemed like I had been pinched and the sleep that veiled my Misty eyes suddenly cleared. I opened my eyes, and I realised I was deemed unable to feel, move or express. All I could do was stare, and what I saw, was the strangest thing I have ever seen since I was thirteen, after I realised I had abilities. I starred at my arm skin before I rolled my eye balls downwards, looking at myself. I was seperated from my body. I couldn't seen any colour specifically, other than black and white. My flesh laid peacefully on the bed, which was in Khloe's room, beside the other one she slept on. Suddenly, I saw a bright light, than hurt my open eyes.

This was like torment, but I have never seen such pain in a torment process than what was about to happen. I felt a heavy pang right on my chest and I could feel my heart beating no more, my ribs crack and my lungs punctured. I suddenly saw waves of light as I travelled through them at a speed nothing could comprehend and suddenly I closed my eyes. The pain I felt suddenly stopped and I realised I wasn't dead. Atleast, not yet!

It occurred to me that I was being coax by something powerful or someone perhaps. I opened my eyes and the first thing those hazel circle balls saw was the green field I suddenly appeared in. I stood up and got the warm evening setting sun shinning at my dry skin. 

I slowly swivelled around where I happened to be and just behind me, stood a being, clothed in a white garment with golden linens around the wrist and neck, in addition to the broad wings sticking out of his covered back. He was facing the opposite direction, starring at another sun as it turned out to be, a setting evening sun, that its half was scattered around the deep blue clouds.

It was quite sudden as he spoke boldly; "Now you have to find the seven souls and restore your gift, the spark." The being said. My heart clenched as soon as I heard the voice. His voice was like the roars of multiple lions and the thunders of the heavy clouds. Just as he said, almost about to turn to me, I woke up in another dream, nightmares, ephialtes, what ever this was, not even having the chance to see who it was or even reply. His sentence got me curious, restore my gift? the spark! Only my mother addressed my ability as the spark. 

I studied the surrounding and I realised I was right before Khloe's house. I looked around and rather than a setting sun, I got a reddish purple sky with nothing around, no sun, no stars in the sky, no cars Not even a soul around me. I yelled at the top of my voice "Hello". But no one answered. Rather I listened to the multiple echoes of my voice, down the empty street.

John! A bold voice called out. It sounded like the voice I had heard before. The angel I saw, that is if it was one. The voice called from a close range which got me to turn over and I saw it again, the being standing right before me.

Light fades.
