Chapter 1Sierra Monday Another wonderful Monday morning getting ready for the first day of my senior year. It seems bittersweet to be starting my last year of high school. I hadn’t put much thought into what I was going to do after graduation, but one thing was for certain, I was getting the hell out of this small town. I want to see the world, experience what life could be like outside the walls and boundaries of this town and my family. I want to experience culture, and music, and food, and everything that comes with it. The places on my bucket list are endless. Unfortunately it is crazy expensive to travel, but I have been working since junior high to save up enough money to do some traveling after graduation. My family has always isolated themselves in this small town. They wanted to live some place that they could feel free to practice their magic. Chapter 3Alex I don’t know why my dad insists I go to this stupid elder ceremony. I know we have to be nice to them and pretend to get along, but I was really looking forward to a nice run on the equinox. We don’t have to shift except for on the full moon, but any type of celestial holiday or event our wolves tend to get a little pent up. There was no chance I would be able to shift in front of a coven of witches. I doubt half of them have ever even seen an actual werewolf in person. Dad said we’re staying with their doctor and his family. Apparently he has a daughter a little younger than me that’s still in high school. Chapter 5Alex I rolled my eyes when my dad offered this girl a ride home. He’s always such a people pleaser and way too nice to everyone. Dad always says that a good alpha knows how to be a leader without instilling fear in people. Something I have yet to master. I peered through my dads car window trying to get a look at the doctor’s daughter and was struck by a pair piercing blue eyes staring back at me. All at once I felt all the breath leave my body. She was absolutely gorgeous with long brown hair and big blue eyes that could see right through you. Her voice carried through the car window breaking me from my haze. “Sure that would be nice thank you” as she walked over to the door to the back seat and opened it. Chapter 7Alex Needless when I saw the tray of lasagna aimlessly floating through the air it took me by surprise. Obviously I’m in a witch’s house why would something like that surprise me. I felt so embarrassed by my sudden outburst. I felt dad chuckle softly next to me. Everything up until this point had seemed so normal I almost forgot where I was. Normally Ajax and I are so in sync, attuned and aware of everything going on around us, but since Sierra walked into the dining room and sat down across from us wearing that little low cut shirt he has done nothing but pace back and forth in my head. ‘Dude, seriously what’s going on with you?’ I questioned him ‘I don’t know something about this girl has got me going nuts. The desire to claim her is overwhelming’ Ajax replied Suddenly I look over to her and she’s staring at me with so many questions burning in her eyes. It was an interesting dinner to say the least. I know they’re just as curious about my kind as I am about theirs.

Chapter 9Sierra It was finally time to leave the house for Elder Wynn’s ceremony. Alyssa and I made our way to the main living room where everyone was waiting. “Aw you look beautiful darling”, my mom says I look down at my feet, embarrassed. “Uh thanks mom.” I look up and see Alex staring at me and I feel heat pool between my legs. What the hell is wrong with me. This guy is unwinding me with just a look. I need to get it together. Just then the image of him shirtless from last night flashes through my mind and I flush a deep shade of pink. I can see the flash in his eyes as he brings his tongue to lick his lower lip as if he wants to devour me. Dad speaks up breaking us from our little trance. “Feel free to follow us in your car. I know you’re not entirely familiar to our town just yet” he says warmly We head out to the east side of town that has been set up with a stage and outdoor tents. When an elder retires the town goes all out. When we arrive there are platters of food f
