The sound of spoons and forks clinking softly on the dining table. The silence was also an intense awkwardness for the brown-haired girl who was sitting nervously in her chair.

Richie groaned softly, "Sarah hasn't confirmed it yet. "

"You want that, don't you, Sarah? I've discussed this with your parents. They agreed."

Sarah put down her cutlery then gulped down the orange juice beside hers. She was pulling one finger to give Richie instructions to approach.

Richie obeyed and brought his ear to Sarah. In a shallow voice, Sarah asked a question that Richie himself had expected.

"Is your sexual orientation known to your parents? Huh?" she whispered.

Richie replied in the same way, "No ... I'm sure they didn't. I didn't expect this plan at all."

They separated, still staring at each other. As if able to convey all the words with only four eyes that crossed each other.

Mrs Dalton was impatient and drew her conclusions. She clasped her hands on the table while glancing at the two of them triumphantly. As if she was sure that her plan would work.
