 Juliet              “No, no, no, no, no! Turn on, you piece of crap! You can’t do this to me now!” I mutter with frustration as I slam my fists against the steering wheel with a cry. This is definitely not how I expected the start of my prom night to go. Taking a few fortifying breaths, I caress the steering wheel and say a little prayer in hopes that my car will miraculously turn back on. Gazing down at my lucky bracelet, I clench my teeth and tighten my fists against the steering wheel. “Please, baby, please turn on,” I mumble nervously before I turn the key again. The car’s engine hiccups and sputters again. I guess my grandma lied when she said my bracelet was lucky. I contemplate wryly as I caress my hand against the delicate silver chain’s luminous surface.           &nbs

 Juliet                  “No, no, no, no, no! This is not happening. This is not happening.” I repeat as I gaze down at my abraded hands and scratched-up dirty feet. Is it groundhog day? Am I cursed to live my life repeating the same thing over and over again?              Once again, I’ve woken up in the woods with bruised and bloody hands and feet. Looking at my right hand, I see a sharp, gleaming blade with some kind of blue and gold engraving around the edge. I have no clue where the blade came from. It doesn’t look familiar at all. The handle is black with silver vines, and the edge is smooth like liquid silver. Tossing the knife on the ground, I falter and gaze around the area, but I don’t see anything other than my footsteps. Juliet              This is the most fun I’ve had in a long time. I don’t know why I didn’t do this before. As soon as we got to the sorority house, my friend India and I began to party. Her sorority sisters were kind and welcoming─not the bitchy sorority girls I expected them to be. The DJ is up on a large platform nodding her head up and down, her headphones wrapped around her ear as the roaring bass of the music echoes through the room. Sweat slithers down my back, and my hair sticks to my neck like tentacles. We’re all in the middle of the dance-floor, happily dancing and twirling with the rest of the crowd when I see him.              Rowan is here, and flirting with him is none other than the two hottest Kappas─ Becky and Mercedes. My nostrils flare, and my stomach tightens when they wrap their arms around him

 Juliet              I gaze around the sterile room as I swing my legs back and forth on the examination table. Over the last four hours, I’ve been prodded, poked, and questioned about everything. At this point, I just want to go home, but my dad’s people won't let me. I freaking hate this place so much.               “Your father says that you’re not getting much sleep and that you’re taking up wandering around the house at night. Why do you think that is, Juliet?” Dr. Harold Parker asks as he runs a wand across my chest.              All I can think, though, is that I’m fucked. Obviously, my dad has been keeping a closer eye on me than I assumed. The fact that he knows I’ve been up to is alarming.

              Jules              “Who was that boy?” My father asks as he strides purposely behind me.              I shake my head, confused by his behavior. “I already told you. His name is Rowan─.”              “I know his name!” He hisses angrily. “What I’m asking you is if you’re screwing him?”              I’m taken aback. My father may have been a cold man, but I’ve never heard him be so cruel.              “Are you serious right now?”
