Deceit

Giovannis POV;

"How could she be planning such a despicable crime!!!" I shouted threshing what is left of the formerly battered furnitures.

"I... thought she... lo... loved me,” I whispered, sinking down to the floor. I brought up both my hands to hide the tears that poured down like a tap that was carelessly left open. 

I'm never one to cry, but the excruciating pain that had inflicted my heart remains one like never before. The intensity had brought me on the verge of losing my sanity at some point, and if by any chance I survive this. Just know I'm a living testimony.

"She's not worth it, Giovanni!" Sebastian uttered.

And to say his words infuriated me would be an understatement, as it hit quite a sensitive nerve. The term anger did not even begin to describe the emotion swirling within me at the very moment. And without thinking, I briskly stand up and shoved him to the nearest wall with my bare hands wrapped around his neck.

"What the f*** do you know about love or being cared for, huh!? The last time I checked YOU ARE AN ORPHAN. A person who's known nothing but rejection his whole miserable life, and if you think for one second that you can come here and play as my therapist then you better GET LOST!!!" 

I said in one breath but later on stumbled back when the realization of what I had said downed on me. 

I've known Sebastian since diapers, as my father was a philanthropist who would often donate money to the orphanage they brought him up in. They sometimes required my dad to spend a little time with the kids, which would end up with me coming along.

Sebastian and I weren't the best of friends we are at the moment. We actually hated each other’s guts. Fighting for every little thing our young self could think of just to see who was the bigger boss. 

Life truly is unpredictable, and me and Sebastian were a proof of it. I mean, look at us never missing an opportunity to update one about the other’s life and even referring each other as brothers.

I know it was shameful and pathetic of me to use his past against him, and I could feel regret seeping through my heart. Only then did I realize the truth is a bitter pill I had to swallow. A fatal pill I was fully aware if I swallowed the after effect will be one that will break me. 

So finally accepting the truth, most probably something I had to do eventually do. I look up to meet Sebastian's gaze, expecting to see nothing but hate and disgust shining in his obsidian orbs. Yet to my surprise, all I saw is a look of understanding that had immediately put my anxious heart to rest. And instead of him returning the detestable words I harshly shoved down his throat, he simply looked me dead in the eye and stated....

"How about we put a plan into action... brother."
