Jenna is perceived by the outside world as a sexy, spoiled woman who has gotten whatever she wanted. She was the only child of her Alpha parents and they wanted nothing more than for Jenna to settle down and become Luna to the Black Crescent Pack. What few people realised was Jenna is a kind-hearted woman who has healing powers. She does a lot of charity work outside of her circle and wants to be a doctor for humans and werewolves. Few really know Jenna, including her fated mate. When they meet, Adam instantly hates all that he thinks she is. But he does need a Luna to solidify his spot as Alpha for the Red Pine Pack. Jenna and Adam decide on a short-lived truce to help each other get what they want. Little do they know Jenna’s healing powers make her a target for an underworld waiting to capture her to use her talents. Will their growing attraction to one another save Jenna? Is a rejection in their future? Only time will tell in Healing Powers.

Looking around the Club, I was bored. I was with my superficial friends. Those friends who wanted to be your friend because of who you were. I was the Alpha’s daughter. Everyone wanted to say we were friends. Nobody really cared about me. Nobody really knew me for that matter. I had a couple friends I would call close but even then, I kept a lot of my wants and desires private. Trusting people was a big factor for me.
Once we got into a club in the VIP line or got into a restaurant that was otherwise booked months in advance, they tended to drift off to do their own thing. The only smart thing was I always drove or had someone drive us. So, I always had a ride home when I was ready to leave.
I played the role of spoiled, rich girl very well. I was daddy’s little girl. My parents were hoping I would find my mate soon so my dad could retire. My parents never thought of me as Alpha material. Not that I fought it a great deal. I wasn’t sure that I wanted to be a Luna much less an Alpha.
What most people don’t know is I do a lot of charity work at a local children’s hospital in the city. Although I am a wolf, I have integrated quite nicely into the human world. Obviously, nobody knows that I am a wolf. They also don’t know that I am a magical healer as well. I have subtly healed children with various ailments. At a cost to my own health, but worth it nonetheless.
My parents had suspected I was special when I healed an injured warrior without realising it when I was younger. But for some reason it has been kept a secret all these years. They have only told me it’s best not to share my talents with anyone that I can heal people. It was not safe, for me, for people to know my wolf could heal.
But I wanted to put my talents to good use, so first I volunteered. A lot. I finished high school six months ago. I had turned eighteen just before I graduated. I had decided that I wanted to be able to use my healing powers, so I was now studying to be a Pack doctor as well as a human doctor. I spent many hours at our Pack hospital learning as well as at the children’s hospital. I figured learning wolves healing and human healing would serve my ultimate goals well.
I had received good grades in school, surprisingly to my parents given my partying habits. I was a natural at school – what else could I say? That I studied twice as hard as everyone else? I did. I was taking pre-med courses before I got my high school diploma. My parents were reluctant to let me study. They wanted me to focus on my Luna training. As a compromise I had to commit to two hours of Luna training every Saturday morning.
It was exhausting but worth it. Once I had started to understand the wolf and human anatomies, I was able to start concentrating my healing properly. Where most parents would be proud to have a healer in their family, my parents were convinced it was a curse.
Hence why I had to continue the façade of being a spoiled, rich girl. I had gorgeous red hair with silver eyes. Most would expect my wolf to be red; however, it’s a white with soft red tinged tips at the end of my fur. My wolf’s name is Tina – she loves our powers, loves our wolf form and is probably the one person (yes, I think of my wolf as a person) who knows me best. We can also fight. We have been trained since a young age to be able to fight off any threats. I couldn’t fight a whole Pack of wolves, but I can certainly fight off a rogue or two until help arrives.
I am looking forward to having a mate one day. Someone I can trust who will see me for me. I don’t care what his rank is, as long as he is a good mate and is proud of who I really am. I will always keep my powers a secret, but I will be able to help so many people after I complete my education. I am almost done with my studies to be able to work at our Pack hospital. It is significantly different from studying to be a doctor at a human hospital. That said, what I am learning at the Pack hospital is allowing me to challenge certain courses and advance my education faster as a human doctor.
As I look around the Club, I see the girls I came with coming toward me. “Come on Jenna, let’s hit the dancefloor,” they yell over the loud music. At a Club that caters to werewolves, the alcohol is a lot stronger. A regular club with regular alcohol wouldn’t do much for us. So, everyone here was feeling pretty good.
Smiling at the girls, I went with them as they dragged me over to the dance floor. I loved to dance, and I had to admit I was good at it. I let my body move to the music. It wasn’t long before some guys were dancing with us. One guy had caught my eye, he was slightly taller than my 5’4” at roughly 6 feet. He was cute and well built. We started dancing together, our bodies moving as one. As a slow song came on, he pulled me into his arms and slid his hands around my waist.
Eventually he tried to slide his hands lower to my ass, but I casually moved them back up to my waist. He smiled, understanding it wasn’t happening and was a good sport about it. As I looked around, I could see one of my friend’s making out with a new guy while another was dancing closely with a different guy. A couple were missing from the dance floor so I could imagine they were likely hooking up as they usually did.
As the song ended, I decided to move away from my dance partner. I was getting tired and tomorrow morning was another Luna class to kick off my Saturday morning. Recognizing my friends weren’t ready to go home, I was grateful I had used a car service tonight. I had too much alcohol to drive home safely. I waved goodbye as they tried to encourage me to stay longer. I just smiled and headed out.
As I got in the car, Harry – the driver - asked me how my night was. “Same as always, Harry, fun while it lasted,” I sigh, sitting back in my seat. He chuckles, “Oh Miss Jenna to be your age again,” he says. I laughed with him. Harry has a mate of thirty years and has kids older than me. Him and his mate were lucky – they met here in the Pack and had never had to leave. Right at high school no less. He was a good man. He was a warrior for many years and had recently shifted his job to be chauffeur. He didn’t feel he could keep up with “you young ones,” as he often shared with me.
Harry jumped out to open the car door for me as we arrived back at the Pack house. I jumped out and kissed Harry on the cheek thanking him for the drive. He blushed as he always does and wished me a good evening. As I walked into the Pack house, I could hear some of the younger Pack members in the common rooms playing video games.
Grateful I had my own room on the Alpha floor, I snuck by everyone to get to my room. My room was a spacious suite that had a sitting area, bedroom, and its own bathroom with a little kitchenette. I usually kept snacks and beverages in my room, but all my main eating was done in our dining hall. I loved the neutral tones in my suite. My mom and I had decorated the suite when I was old enough to be on my own in my own room. I had room to have sleepovers if I chose but I rarely did.
As I said. I keep my personal stuff personal. Few people know the real me and those that do keep my secrets.
Six months later ... Jenna POV I sat feeding my pup, Grace. She was the most beautiful little girl I had ever seen, but I am sure I am quite bias I think with a chuckle. She had dark hair like her daddy, and silver eyes like me with her angelic features. Adam was an amazing daddy to his little girl. He got up with me for all feedings and took her to his office often to give me a break. There was no me and him; it was one hundred percent us. I loved him more for that. Grace had been born two months ago. I do not know how, but I was blessed with a very quick labour and delivery. I suspect it had something to do with Gracie’s impatience at wanting to be born. She was ready to see this world and meet her family. We knew from the moment of her birth she had a strong aura. You knew you were in the presence of someone special. Her eyes were bright, and she has been aware of her surroundings since the first moment she opened them. It would n
Adam POV As I come through the forest and come upon the scene in front of me my heart sinks as I see yet another ring of rogues surrounding Jenna. I can see the two warriors in front of her being destroyed as Tim makes his way towards her. I roar my anger as Jake pounces forward destroying all rogues in his path. My only goal is to get to Jenna. When I heard from her it was Elder Fred who had betrayed us, I was filled with rage. I wanted to destroy him myself, but I see someone beat me to it as his insides are spilled out on the ground in front of Jenna. I know, from Jenna, that the Pack members present are unable to shift as they were affected by the wolfsbane. It also explains why they could not communicate with me. Fortunately, the rogues were not bothering with them, and I could see the women were pushing the children away as best they could without drawing attention to themselves. I make my way through the crowd of rogues along with th
Adam POV It felt great to have Sam back again. I am sure there is some story behind his mystery woman, but that would be a conversation over a cold beer once we cleared out the rogue situation. I shifted midstride, destroying my clothes but there was no time to stop and change. Our warriors were updating us that the numbers of rogues entering our territory were higher than we had seen before. They might be an army, but they were not a healed army so there would be disorganization amongst them. They would fight for so long before their own goals would shadow what the current head rogue wanted. And it concerned me that the head rogue could be Tim. He knew more about Jenna because of his connection to the Rogue King and Wendy. Clearly it put him at an advantage we would have preferred he not have. As I broke through the clearing, Sam and Jack were close on my heels. I could not believe what I saw. There were at least thirty rogues fighting o
Adam POV Jenna’s father was brought back into the courtroom. Her mother, Luna Ashley, was also brought in for her husband’s sentencing. She sits directly behind Alpha Gordon, with warriors on either side of her. Everyone was required to stand as the judges returned to their seats. They looked solemnly at those of us present. “There is no winning side in today’s proceedings,” the judge starts to say. “There is only room for justice. The atrocities committed by Alpha Gordon Frasier in the case of trying to kidnap his own daughter, in return assisting with the kidnapping of someone else, plus supporting the development of a rogue army leave us little wiggle room for sentencing anything less than life in prison,” the judge concludes his spiel. Jenna’s mother screams and the warriors must grab her to keep her from lunging toward the judges. Alpha Gordon slams his fist down on the table, breaking it in half as he stands also threatening the judg
Adam POV Since Jenna’s mother’s revelation that the rogues were coming for us, I have rallied our troops to get them ready for an impending attack. I have tried to reach Sam with no luck. It is unusual that I would not be able to reach him, but I had to assume he was having a good time. He was due back by the end of this week. I would worry if he did not show up then. Jenna’s mother disclosed nothing more than the statements, “I expect they will be here any time now.”. That had been a couple of days ago. Jenna had a lot of time for painstaking self-reflection during this time. Well reflection on her entire life. How parents could treat their daughter as they had was still beyond reproach to me. Jenna was also suffering thinking of Josie. Not lost on us was the fact that Eric tried to become her mate. That reflects how little everyone knew of the deceit of Jenna’s parents and the Rogue King himself. Had they known the truth, they may have avoided a
Jenna POV It had been a couple days since we had incarcerated my father. My mother had arrived with more flair than I had ever noticed before. When she first saw me, she walked over to me standing beside Adam and Jack. I had expected a hug. What I got was a slap in the face. The parking area echoed with the slap against my face. Adam quickly grabbed my mother’s arm breaking it. “How dare you touch my mate?” he yells at her. “Oh please, you did not want her in the beginning and now you expect me to believe you have changed. It is because she is a healer and the strength she brings to your Pack!” she shrieks. I cringe back hating being reminded of our start. And now I have to wonder if my parents ever really cared for me, or did they only like what I brought to the table? “Why did you bother keeping me a secret?” I ask her as she stands there nursing her broken arm. “What?” she asks me confused with my question. “Why didn’t you tell others I had he
