I believe the count is two published novels. Nita Prose might be planning more, but she's also a busy editor. 'The Maid' was such a phenomenon that a sequel was inevitable. 'The Mystery Guest' delivers more of what fans loved. Read them in publication order for the full arc.

I wonder if the audiobook versions are considered separate 'editions' in some counts? No, of course not. The series is two books, available in print, digital, and audio.

The order remains the same across all formats. I listened to both, and I can confirm the narration is consistent, which is important for a character-driven series like this. So, two titles. Choose your preferred format, but start with 'The Maid'.

Can we talk about the audiobooks for a sec? The narrator, Lauren Ambrose, is perfection for Molly's voice. That's how I consumed both. So if anyone's asking about order and format, I'd say: listen to 'The Maid' first, then 'The Mystery Guest'.

The performance adds so much to understanding Molly's literal mind and social challenges. It's two books total, and experiencing them in audio order is a fantastic way to go. The character feels even more alive.

From a collector's perspective: only two hardcovers exist so far. 'The Maid' has several editions now (standard, B&N exclusive, etc.), and 'The Mystery Guest' has its first edition. They look great together on a shelf.

The series order is literally just by publication year. I'm hoping the spines will line up thematically if she writes more. But yeah, for now, your collection will be two books tall, in that order. Simple and satisfying.

Haha, I read the title of this thread and my brain immediately went, 'Wait, is there a third one I missed?!' Panic over. It's still just the two.

'The Maid' and 'The Mystery Guest'. I keep checking the author's social media for any hint of a third. The wait begins! But for anyone new, you've got two fantastic books to enjoy in a clear, straightforward order. Lucky you!

What is the correct reading order of Nita Prose books?

12 Antworten2026-08-05 02:32:09
The 'correct' order is whatever the author and publisher present. On Amazon, in the 'Books in Series' section, it lists 'The Maid' as #1 and 'The Mystery Guest' as #2. That's the definitive commercial answer. Everything else is personal preference.

How do the Nita Prose mystery novels connect in series order?

15 Antworten2026-08-05 09:02:11
They connect through the setting of the Regency Grand Hotel, which is practically a character itself. The order isn't about a grand saga; it's about the deepening portrait of this workplace and its quirky staff. Read 'The Maid' to learn the lay of the land, then 'The Mystery Guest' to see how that micro-society reacts to another shock. The series feels like checking in on a familiar, slightly chaotic family.

Does Nita Prose have to be read in series order or as standalones?

16 Antworten2026-08-05 14:27:46
Ultimately, the only person who can answer this is you. What's your reading personality? Do you feel a compulsive need to start at the absolute beginning of a character's timeline? Then start with 'The Maid.' Does the concept of a rigid order feel restrictive? Then grab whichever one calls to you. Your personal enjoyment protocol is the only one that matters. Both books are bestsellers for a reason—they work. They work in order, and they work out of order. So empower yourself. Choose based on your mood, the cover, the blurb, or the weather. You can't make a wrong choice.

Should I read Nita Prose books in publication order or timeline?

8 Antworten2026-08-05 17:38:28
You know, sometimes I envy people who get to discover a series after a couple books are out. You get to binge! That's you right now. Your 'binge order' is unequivocally publication order. Make some tea, get cozy, and start with 'The Maid'. You have a lovely, uninterrupted story ahead of you.

Where does The Maid fit in the full Nita Prose reading order?

8 Antworten2026-08-05 02:32:22
My copy of 'The Mystery Guest' has a preview of 'The Maid' in the back. That should tell you everything. The publisher assumes you read them in order and uses the second book to promote the first to new readers. It's a publishing clue. They are presented as a sequence, not as interchangeable standalone novels.

How many books are in Natasha Preston's series?

Natasha Preston's series are such a binge-worthy rabbit hole! I got hooked after picking up 'The Cellar' on a whim, and before I knew it, I'd devoured her entire catalog. Her most famous series, the 'Silent Night' trilogy, has three books—'Silent Night,' 'Broken Silence,' and 'Deadly Silence.' But she’s also written standalone thrillers like 'The Cabin' and 'You Will Be Mine,' which feel like they could’ve been part of a series because of their intense, twisty vibes. Honestly, her pacing is so addictive—I once stayed up till 3 AM finishing 'Awake,' even though I had work the next day. If we’re talking pure series count, though, she leans more toward standalones or duologies. For example, 'The Lost' and 'The Missing' are connected but not formally labeled a series. It’s part of her charm; she keeps you guessing whether characters might pop up again. I’d kill for a sequel to 'The Twin,' though—that ending left me with so many questions!

Kristen Proby has penned several captivating series that draw readers in with their engaging characters and steamy romances. One of her most popular series is the 'With Me in Seattle' series, which currently consists of six books. Each installment follows different couples, but they all share the vibrant backdrop of Seattle, creating a wonderful sense of familiarity for fans. I particularly love how the narratives weave together alluring stories filled with humor and heart, keeping me invested and eager for each new romance. Then there's the 'Love Under the Big Sky' series, which includes four books. It's a delightful escape into the Montana wilderness, where love blossoms against the breathtaking scenery. The characters feel so real, especially when they encounter the ups and downs of life and love. Proby's ability to immerse us in such rich settings while creating relatable relationships makes her writing a joy to dive into. For anyone seeking a romantic escape, her books are a treat. Another series, 'The Boudreaux Series,' features five stories centered around a tight-knit family in New Orleans. Proby captures the sultry allure of the city alongside the complexities of familial relationships. Each character has unique quirks, but together they create a sense of warmth that keeps me coming back for more. It’s like hanging out with old friends while experiencing the rollercoaster of love and adventure in the Big Easy. When it comes to series writing, Kristen Proby truly knows how to put passion on every page!
