“You’re my best friend’s little sister.”
I fold my arms, pretending his words don’t bother me. “Last time I checked, I have a name.”
A slow smile tugs at the corner of his lips. “Sophie.”
Hearing my name in his voice does something dangerous to my heart.
He takes a step back, dragging a hand through his hair as if he’s trying to put distance between us.
“None of that changes anything.”
I lift an eyebrow.
“What exactly doesn’t it change?”
His gaze locks onto mine, lingering a second too long.
“You’re still off-limits.”
A smile plays on my lips.
“Then you should stop looking at me like that.”
His jaw tightens. “Like what?”
I move closer until there’s barely a breath between us. “Like you’ve already forgotten your own rule.”
