His first love barged into my office and stood before me, mocking, "He doesn't love you at all." I rolled my eyes. "I don't know whether he loves me, but I am Mrs. Brooke now. And who are you, exactly?" I was surprised that there was still someone so clueless in this day and age. Marriage was all about mutual benefit; the idea of love was downright ridiculous. To me, Noah was just a means to an end—a tool that would double my worth. I had never taken him seriously.

I worked for a restaurant, and our boss loved making empty promises about giving us restaurant shares. The boss said we would start with zero shares, but we could earn 0.01% for every two hours of overtime, covering someone else’s work or saving the restaurant 1,000 bucks. I suggested she write this down in an official document and have someone track it properly. She just smiled and told everyone to work harder. She never actually put it in writing. The experienced staff did not believe her, but one prep cook took it seriously. At the end of the year, he went to the boss to claim his shares. The boss said, “Sorry, the head chef told me there’s no official document, so it doesn’t count. You can’t claim any shares.” The prep cook worked hard all year and got nothing for it, so he took his anger out on me. The day before I was going home for the New Year, he killed me with a knife. “If you hadn’t said it doesn’t count without an official document, this whole restaurant would’ve been mine!” I lay in a pool of blood. When I opened my eyes, I was back to the day the boss first made those empty promises.

I applied for a popular online job as a personal chef. I thought I'd be cooking simple, home-style meals, but I quickly found myself trapped in a world of surprises. I never would've expected the child my father adopted out of the kindness of his heart to destroy my family. A few years later, he becomes a rising star in the business world, and I become a hostess in a club. He pays a fortune to become my patron so he can keep me by his side like a bird in a cage. He's about to marry soon, but he doesn't bother keeping our relationship under wraps. His wife torments and abuses me upon learning of my existence. He chases me to the airport and pins me to the wall in the restroom. His eyes are red as he demands to know one thing. "What am I to you?" "A patron and cash cow, at most." The iciness in my eyes is almost tangible.

My wife dies in an accident, leaving me and our son, who's just started kindergarten, behind. I barely make it through the funeral. However, when I get home, my in-laws come knocking with my wife's brother in tow. They want to take over my wife's fortune, including an old bungalow my parents left me for me in the city. I finally realize that my wife has changed me so much that her family has never seen me tearing people's throats out.

My sister had struggled with severe depression for years, and the only thing that seemed to ease her pain was her dog, Toto, who had become her constant companion. She shatters the pendant, gouges my eyeballs out, slashes my tongue, and has several men torment me to death. Lastly, she includes my eyeballs as decorations in a bouquet and brings it to Mom. "This is a gift I've prepared for your birthday, Mom. Do you like it?"

My wife's male assistant shares a receipt for a yacht on his social media on my third wedding anniversary. "Look at what a special gift my boss got for me! Let's travel the world together for the rest of our lives!" When I see that my wife paid for the yacht, I give her a video call, wanting to figure out what the situation is like. When it's answered, I see my wife and her assistant enjoying the wind on the yacht, their faces pressed together. "Don't get the wrong idea, Mr. Lyon. Ms. Bluett just cares for her employees!" Jack Leary explains. Meanwhile, Isabel Bluett starts screaming at me. "What the hell are you getting jealous over, Cillian Lyon? What's the big deal with me rewarding my subordinate with a yacht when he's done a good job? Remember that this is my company. You have no right to boss me around!" I say calmly, "Alright, then. I won't bother about you anymore. You can go ahead and have fun with whoever you want!"

My friend introduced me to an online card game. I won 150 thousand dollars in only one night. The hot female dealer contacted me privately. “Mister, you can give me a video call when you top up to a certain amount. Plus, there’s an extra benefit. You can do whatever you want with me.”

After that, I sneak all my wedding gifts out, wanting to sell them for money. However, I'm told they're all fakes. My husband sneers. "I'm glad I had the foresight to switch them out for the real deal. You would've taken all the money if not for that!" Later, the hospital called to say there was an issue with their system. The names on the medical reports were wrongly indicated. I ask my husband, "Why are you competing with someone who has a long life ahead when you already have one foot in the grave?"
