Ex-Husband, You Don't Own me

Ex-Husband, You Don't Own me

The chess pieces were made of jade, and the chessboard was carved from a fine white jade that was very smooth and pleasant. Danny was still young, so even though he was intelligent, playing chess was still difficult. Dexie sat with him on the carpet next to Luke and played chess. Danny was quiet and didn't talk much while playing. At first, he was unfamiliar with the game, but after two

Plot is good but the Author is lazy. Incorrect allocation of pronouns, reader ends up paying twice for a chapter 16 and 17 exactly the same), re-use of sentences scattered throughout the chapters and book, etc.
rosenie pultoo
Too bad the translation of this asian novel is messed up and the pronouns are mixed up constantly. The story is difficult to follow because of these faults. Too bad, it was interesting at first but I'm quitting. This app should really do something about the quality of some of these stories.

Bad Girl Reborn

Bad Girl Reborn

Seeing the flushed face of the little girl, he smirked in satisfaction. "The price." John embraced Diana's waist, displaying a possessive posture, and glanced at the astonished store owner nearby. "Huh? What?" The petrified man finally regained his senses. Facing John's icy gaze, he trembled and stuttered, "One chess piece costs $15,000. There are 16 white pieces and 16 black pieces in one set, making a total of 32 pieces per set, and there are two sets in total... Please wait a moment while I calculate."

Marked by the Lycan King

Marked by the Lycan King

Elder Alfred said in an authoritative tone that left no room for refusal. While mindlinking Housekeeper Sheila, Myra reluctantly took a seat, flashing a fake smile. Sheila soon appeared with a beautiful, exquisite chess set. This chessboard should be for decoration, Myra thought. “Do you know how to play chess?” Elder Alfred asked. She nodded slightly. She had learned it back in Crimson Moon Pack, before she found out Aiden was her mate. Elder Alfred started arranging the pieces. “The chessboard is like a battlefield. One wrong move and your king is in checkmate.”

Pregnant by my Ex-Boyfriend’s Father

Pregnant by my Ex-Boyfriend’s Father

Relief. I’d spent so much time convinced I didn’t have it anymore. Whatever it was. The nerve. The skin. The stamina for public life. But here I was. Still standing. Still moving. Just slower. I pulled out the chessboard. It had become my thing lately especially during the last 20 days social media hiatus. It helped with my anxiety, and it improves my strategic thinking. I set the pieces carefully. White first. Always white. Pawn forward. Then another. I liked opening space early.

Field Team 42: Paranormal Responders

I took a step back and let them have it. Back at the main chamber, I found Schnell with Bob. They were—of all things—playing chess. With magnetic pieces. On a stolen Control board. “He’s cheating,” Schnell said without looking up. “You’re using equations to optimize your pawn structure,” Bob countered. “I call it even.” They both glanced at me. “Didn’t peg you two for bonding time.” Schnell grunted. “We are not bonding.” “Not in ze slightest,” Bob said at the same time.

LOVE AND LUST

LOVE AND LUST

"You will." --- The two friends took their seats. George picked up one of the white pawns. "You first?" Lee nodded. "Go ahead." George made the opening move. Lee answered almost instantly. Another move. Another response. For several minutes, neither of them spoke. Only the quiet sound of chess pieces sliding across the board filled the room. George leaned back. "You've been practicing." Lee smiled. "Maybe." "Definitely." Lee simply moved another piece. George frowned. "I don't like where this is going."

An Heir For The Multi Billionaire CEO

An Heir For The Multi Billionaire CEO

“Before the sand runs out, you must have beaten me and if you don't, you stop pestering, agree?” “I agree!” Khloe bit her nails nervously as she grabbed a seat far away from Felix and them and watched nervously. Few hours later they still were playing with Felix having a total of six chess pieces out and Investor Sam having ten pieces out already. Though time was not up, moreover, it was clear to her who won and who lost. Too bad, all her effort of training him in golf was buried in waste. “You better give up young man. I am unbeatable when it comes to this game ” He grinned his cheeks and sipped on the green tea in the glass cup. His gaze still focused on the chessboard and chess piece he s

Crown & Creatures: The Awakening

Crown & Creatures: The Awakening

Under the yellowish light are lying some black pawns carved with stone. A milky white hand adds another black pawn to the collection. Proud milky white cheeks beam up in joy. But seeing the silly move, a smile turns up at the corner of a yellowish face. "Check, Alicia," says James, putting a white horse forward on wood painted in grey and white squares. "I don't understand…I was winning just minutes ago," says Alicia, now twelve years old. "That's how it works," says James in a teacher tone. She scrunches her nose and slides the king to the left square. He moves a pawn forward and raises both hands in the hair. "Checkmate."

Alpha, Prince, Revenge: Which Comes First?

Alpha, Prince, Revenge: Which Comes First?

She took care of one of my pawns but I ate her hook. The game got intense as she gave me a furious look. I took it that she's playing with me or maybe testing my reaction. She ate my knight which I hadn't anticipated. I stared at how strategic her chess pieces looked at the battlefield. If I moved my queen, she would eat her but one of my pawns had almost reached the end of the line. I moved my queen and Alee took the bait. She moved her knight and ate my queen, which gave me an ample opportunity to replace my pawn with my queen.

The Ultimate Husband

The Ultimate Husband

"Brother Darryl, you are an excellent chess player. I have already calculated all the possible outcomes 20 steps ahead. Why can't I win?" Lindsey's face flushed with rage as she said that. "Twenty steps?" Sofia, who was standing beside her at the time, could not help but exclaim, "Lindsey, only chess grandmasters, to my knowledge, can calculate all the possible moves 20 steps in advance. You are still young, but you have accomplished much. You are truly gifted!" Sofia was not exaggerating in the least. A novice could only think two steps ahead. An expert could do five. Grandmasters could accomplish 20.
