12 Minutes To Midnight Book Novels & Stories

Chapter 7: The Midnight Rain Clara The clock on the mahogany nightstand read 2:14 AM. The storm hadn't stopped. If anything, it had grown more violent, rattling the reinforced glass of the balcony doors until the frames groaned under the pressure. Lightning tore through the sky every few seconds, illuminating my charcoal silk bedroom in flashes of blinding, ghostly white, followed immediately by cracks of thunder that shook the very foundation of the cliffside estate.

“The video shows her walking to the SUV. You know where she is. End the games, Julian. The children need their mother. I need my sister.” Before he could answer, every screen in the building suddenly lit up with bright light. A masked hacker appeared on the main feed and broadcast a message across the Cross headquarters. “The truth dies in seventy two hours,” the figure said in a distorted voice. Then the screen changed to a live feed that made my heart stop. Liam sat bound to a chair in a dark room. He looked tired but still alive. His eyes stared straight into the camera with quiet strength. The countdown began in bold numbers at the bottom of the screen. Seventy-two hours. The clock start

The memory of the blonde woman telling her that they stay open until midnight struck me like lightning. What time was it? It was almost twelve when I parked my car outside the supermarket. 11:30. Perfect! If I had been in a hurry, I would catch up. |I ran to the bedroom and wore a pair of tracksuits and my sneakers. I grabbed my wallet and keys and left. "Just on time." I thought in relief. I got quickly out of the car and turned my steps towards the entrance. On the stairs, I fell out of action. I was about to hit the floor when two hands grabbed me at the last moment.

Winter is definitely approaching quickly. I thought it was going to be difficult to light the fireplace but the moment I held the lighter close to the wood it lit up. I sat down on the floor so that I could be close to the fire. I glanced at the clock, 6:15pm. I leaned over and grabbed the first book from the couch. The lightening thief. Maybe I could read one chapter and go and try to sleep. It was already 9 pm, and I was really tired, but the book was so interesting, demigods, minotaurs, camp half blood ...

But I thought everything would become so messed up. They would think I am crazy and I didn't want that at all. I went in and after changing my clothes I came out and said was using my phone and then I decided to take a nap and in the afternoon I got up and I was sitting on my terrace. It wasn't raining and I was enjoying my coffee and was reading the book and then rain started again. I immediately got up and Was about to go inside the room When I saw a dark shadow near the tree across the road.

I had drunk several bottles of mineral water while on the bus. Therefore, I felt the urge to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. When I groggily opened my eyes, I noticed that Kathleen wasn't in bed. On my way to the bathroom, I passed by the living room and saw a dim, red light flickering from the room next door. It was just the two of us at home—could Kathleen be in there? If it was her, what was she doing there this late at night?

Did he sense something. Did he notice that I wasn't really reading the book? I thought, looking at the book in my hands (My Life Saver by Lilian Finn). What a weird coincidental name for a book. Twenty minutes past eleven p.m. When did time fly so fast? I survived today, tomorrow is going to be another day. "Let's get ready for it." I said, resting my head on my pillow and hugging the book, My Life Saver. ***Day eleven***

Cassius said with a smirk, likely mistaking my gaze on the bookshelves as me restraining myself from browsing them. Despite not feeling as enthusiastic as he assumed, I still went for the books. I let my hands trail across the spine of the books, stopping on the thickest one. I carefully pulled it out, afraid to even scratch the cover. “That’s the novel section of the books. There’s really no title on the cover because it’s printed on the first page,” Cassius explained from his bean bag. I nodded at his explanation and opened the book. My heart nearly dropped upon reading the title. Was this just a coincidence? Written in an elegant font was ‘The Second Time Around: Chronicles of Ava Midgen’

Multiple documents were scattered atop it and candles were lit all around, the only light. A figure stood behind the desk, his back to us as he held a paper close to a flame, reading the small words with difficulty. “Your Highness,” the guard spoke, announcing our arrival. My heart hammered in my chest. The prince held up a finger, finishing the scroll he was reading before rolling it up and placing it on the pile of documents that started on the floor. He turned to face us, and my heart completely stopped beating in my chest. His sharp featured turned what would be a handsome face into something from my nightmares. A slow, calculated smile curled his lips, showing off a row of perfectly str

Agatha was with Mickey, staying past dismissal to clean PERSEPHONE-11 while Isa took a nap in the corner. At 6:31, no visible sunlight in the sky remained aside from the faded twinkle of the stars and the occasional blink of flight-crafts. The Midnight Club made a rendezvous on the 7-11 a block away from Van Duke. Dean was there first, carrying a knapsack that contained two bottles of pink gin and a stack of disposable cups. Gwyneth came five minutes after, then Mickey, then Isaac, then Agatha, and Isa. “Yes, we’re fucking rulebreakers that’s what we are,” Dean laughed.
