Then, Raj, his commander, brought his horse a step forward beside the king, his voice low with unease.
“Your Majesty… there they stand—eighty thousand strong, stretched beyond the edge of sight. Like a sea of iron and flame.” He paused, and with somewhat heavy concern, added, “We are but a tenth of their number. Shall I give the order to fall back if they advance early?”
