Chapter 1 “You found me. Congratulations. Now tell me whether you came to discuss literature or whether you came to be told what to do.” Sera Quinn spoke from the doorway of her apartment without inviting him in. Dorian Hale stood in the hall holding a worn paperback of her first book, the spine broken from repeated reading. He had spent two years tracking the anonymous author behind the work. He had not expected the woman who opened the door to look so ordinary or to sound so unsurprised.

I pulled my hand away and took a step back, locking eyes with him. "No. It's not that you didn't notice me. You just never thought I was worth your attention. "When we landed in Svalmere, I was pale and clearly unwell, but instead of caring, you were more worried about Madison being alone at the hotel. "And when I got back after being buried in snow for hours, all I wanted was to sleep, but you brought me a bowl of mutton stew, even though you knew I hated mutton, and tried to force me to eat it. To you, what I need or want doesn't matter.

Nick picked up a blue diary. He desperately opened it and turned to the first page. That wasn’t it. Nick tossed it aside and found the black journal. He turned to the first page. He exhaled when he realized that it was a continuation of the red one he had read. Nick sat Indian style and zoomed in on the entry.

I reach into my hair for my pencil, pull out one long, loose curl that falls down against my neck. “Well, if you don’t need anything…”I begin to say. “Wait.”He stammers fidgeting a little bit, well I guess his friends had finally let him on the know. “Yes?” He lowers his eyes and picks up a book from the counter in front of me. It’s"Wet Dreams" by Josie frank. The boy’s palm covers the illustration on the front cover. He flips the book sideways and runs his finger down the spine. Now comes the break point. Alice For the first time in my life, I wake up feeling refreshed and entirely awake without a hint of tiredness. Older Dior's magic didn't work on me. I never visited William in my dreams, but at least I'm well-rested and more than ready to take on whatever challenge today will bring. I stretch in my bed, smiling like a fool, when I notice older Dior folded my clothes neatly by the edge of the mattress before leaving. Dante's POV I know I wasn't supposed to be doing this, especially snooping into the diary of a human girl who had given us nothing but troubles but fuck it, the first page was enough to drive any man crazy because that how on earth was she able to memorize every damn thing we did to her back then at the school, locker room, I sat down to read it and memorize everything.

He is cold, arrogant, and impossible to read. She paused, her mind drifting to the memory of "D." She traced the letters on the page. In her mind, the "Chairman" and her "D" were two different people. "D" was a hero, a boy who had stood in the dark with her. Damien Black was a cold, powerful man who lived in a skyscraper. To her, they were opposites. She flipped back to the very first pages of the diary. She touched the shaky handwriting of her ten-year-old self. She read about the red heels, the spider, and the boy who gave her the candy.

Tears I'd been holding back broke free, streaming down my face. “Oh baby, don’t cry. We’re just getting started,” Dora said with faux sympathy. She's one of the notorious bad girls in her crew. Stephanie walked closer, smirked and slapped my books out of my arms. Pages flew like dead leaves across the school compound. As I knelt to gather them, a page from my fantasy novel fluttered loose, a dog-eared copy of The Moonborn Prophecy, my favorite. A silver wolf glowed on the cover.

Lizs pov Staring down at the book in my hands, they shock just enough for me to see it. My fingers tightened around the edges of it. I hadn’t even opened it yet, just holding it felt like too much. Like the moment I turned that first page, everything about my life might change. A knock came from the door, making me jump to my feet, the book falling from my hands, pages scattering on the floor in front of me. The door opened a second later, and Alice stepped inside first. Diana followed right behind her, and Melissa slipped in last, carrying a package and closing the door quietly behind them.
