~STORM As I sit here under the soft glow of the moon, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. The moon goddess has truly blessed me in ways I never thought possible. I look around at my beautiful family, and my heart swells with joy. My twins, Selene and Kingdom, are the light of my life. Their laughter fills our home with warmth, and their love is a constant reassurance of how lucky I am.

Alpha Marcus explains. "They can pass through male descendants for generations without fully surfacing unless the descendant is female." My father agrees. "That's what the old stories say." "And Aurelia never had an Alpha daughter." "So the Blood Moon strength faded." He pauses briefly. "Or maybe it just went dormant." I look down at my hands. "...Until now." Alpha Marcus nods slowly. "Until now." Aiden glances toward me. "Which would make you the first Blood Moon Alpha in that line in roughly two hundred years."

The disappearance of the moon was not just an unusual event in the sky; it was a death sentence. The Purge-Moon, now revealed to be anchored in a hidden "Sync-Orbit" on the far side of the planet, started its gravitational sabotage, causing the Earth to groan. Tides retreated miles from the shore, only to return as towering walls of black water. The atmosphere thinned at the poles, and the ground beneath Aethel-Luna shook as the planet was forced to spin backward.

TWO YEARS LATER Elysia’s POV It had been two years since my mother died. Two years since that night in the forest. Two years since a stranger fucked me against a tree and told me I was the biggest mistake of his life. I thought about him sometimes. Late at night when I couldn’t sleep. I’d replay it in my head—the way his hands felt on my skin, the way he’d made me feel wanted for five whole minutes before ripping it away. I didn’t even know his name.

“I thought the bastard got you too.” Liam inhaled. Got you too. That was all the confirmation Liam needed. His mother was really dead. In a way, he knew. He knew that already, sure, but...now it was different. His mother was actually dead now. No more pancakes, no more game nights, no more potato soup. No more of her sweet laugh, no more of her silly Christmas presents.

Us hybrids were all new to this world and we had a lot of learning to do. The rest of the drive to Crescent Moon, I kept my mouth shut and just listened to Alpha Chance and Alpha Reese talk amongst themselves, as they strategized a plan to hold Ridge Moon pack if they came under attack by the rogues. It was interesting hearing their strategies and their minds working together, even though in my own mind I found some flaws in their plans. I had to remind myself that even though I was now a Luna, I was only a she wolf in this world and not a warrior, even though I was trained to be one.

Can I argue with facts? “You have been given three, no. You have four full moons to have your time with these mates and on the fifth full moon, you’ll return to the West with your new mate and whatever follows will proceed. In regular calendar time, that’s 4 months, including the month with a blue moon.” Rapha ordered. Five full moons, huh? It bothered me why I was so…calm. Something inside me still believed that I’ll find my mate. “I’ll think about it.” My voice just died and I felt my skin turn blue.

A bright moon with white light. A shining silver moon. But it wasn’t full, like it should be. It wasn’t perfect. Not yet. There weren’t any stars, or any moon. It just seemed more like the sun had gone down than the moon had risen. Like its glow dimmed over time. But what it lacked in brightness, it made up for with a warmth that felt soothing and safe. It was peaceful, comforting, like coming home after a day spent exploring. That didn’t make sense though—didn’t they have a new moon? Didn’t they have two moons, one for this season and the other for next? But there was no moon tonight. No moon at all. And now the pack leader was crying for no reason. On seeing something new and shocking, Leora stationed her paws and passed a seamless glance at the sky. How was this possible? Apart from the natural white color, the Moon Goddess would transition into just one color and that was red during the Blood Moon Night but why was she green? I started seeing two Moons in the sky. I shook my head. All of this running into the woods had got me dizzier and exhausted and that was probably I was seeing two figures of everything.
