Three days. ---

The anger still simmered, but it was controlled now. Forty-eight hours. Albert had forty-eight hours to decide whether he wanted to live.

he said quietly. But Aria didn't respond instantly. “You’re worried that I won't be,” she signed. Lucien said nothing to the contrary. “This worries me that this becomes unchecked.” Aria's eyes never blinked. “But we put an end to it before it gets there.” Lucien nodded slowly. “Forty-eight hours.” Aria nodded back. “Forty-eight hours.”

The road from the training camp to the mission site was very long. Every day, the bus stopped for an hour to let people go to the toilet and eat, so the bus ran continuously for twenty-three hours a day; Many people took turns driving. But it took us four days to get there. In the wholly sealed trunk, there was only a glimmer of light from a small wire mesh door, but I was not sitting near it, so I had no idea where the car had passed.

Eighteen hours. The compound was ready. I was going to make sure it stayed that way.

The clock on the wall kept moving. Forty-eight hours.

Three hours to save our lives. Three hours before everything ended in flames.

Seventy-two hours. We could hold the line for seventy-two hours. We had held it through considerably more than that already.
