He opened the door for me and told him the destination. Selspur City was unique in that the city, due to zoning laws, had no downtown to speak of. Every part of the city was the equivalent of the quiet rich sides of a town. Nathan and a few other wealthy individuals had even gone a step further and bought large tracts of lands all outside the city limits and had them turned into recreation parks or idle woodlands just to discourage any shantytowns from cropping up.

Like a Giant, the City came into full view. It was unlike anything Keira had ever seen before. The walls had a mirror-like shine but were black in color. There were small observation posts around the wall that hosted guards to defend the city. Closer to the gates it became more busy. She was not used to this amount of traffic. Hoovers were all over, small, big, carriers then there was the odd contraption here and there. She was expecting way less than the picture in front of her.

Blakely Elias, Sephtis, and the rest of us ignored him. Reaching across the table, Dhara unfurled a map of the city. Magic shimmered across the page, creating a life like rendition of Solana and Lunette’s home. The entire city was a large circle, surrounded by walls of what appeared to be translucent stone. I knew without asking that both sunlight and moonlight were able to permeate the walls, filling the alleyways and streets with a constant ethereal glow.

Chase tidied himself up after that and strode to the city gates to step inside. It was strange that there was no one guarding the city gate. The streets were also empty inside the city. Chase managed to sense the surroundings via the consciousness he had planted on the muscled man who escaped. He heard bustling noises after walking further inside. There was no scenery to view within a hundred miles of Eagle City. There was only yellow sand and ordinary mountain streams. He wondered why people built Eagle City in a place like this. When they entered the city, Chase realized that the lethal fight he had was at Eagle City's rear city gates.

The city outside the compound was alive with the hum of traffic, the neon lights flickering like stars in the cool night air. But inside the walls of the once-feared stronghold, everything was eerily still. But it was these qualities that now proved to be a great disadvantage. The forces of the outside world were complete shut out, but that meant everything associated with the City was trapped and isolated inside, including the screams of its occupants. Screams and shrieked erupted through the underground city but no one, except them, was able to hear it.

The streets were packed with hundreds of people. If you didn't know it, you wouldn't believe this city was in the middle of the desert. Erik said that Viridis valley was neutral ground, and any creature was welcomed to live there without fear of being hunted or captured. The city was on the border and was equally as open, but it had its dark parts, like any other city or town.

Marissa agreed. Adrian fell silent and focused on driving. A little while later, Rozi pointed out the car window to a city and asked, "What city is that? There's a wall around it, and it looks like there are a few people inside." Adrian turned to look. A city stood not too far away with tall walls surrounding the periphery. There were also monster carcassess strewn everywhere outside. "That's Eastrive, a county affiliated with Drogoton. It was named a city due to its development rate."

Intersection was a beautiful city, and unlike many other cities in the world it didn’t have the problem of overcrowding. There weren’t that many slums, and the people were well taken care of. Intersection’s walls were tall and fortified with barriers that hid it from the outside world. So even if one was able to go past the three Great Mountains, they wouldn’t be able to get into Intersection without permission.

Samuel frowned. The geographical location was too bad. But when he thought about it carefully, such a city with a poor geographical location could indeed be bold enough to let it do business.
