"Ma'am, I am willing to forget I saw you this morning if you put a smile on that face of yours and cheer up. I am sure it's not as bad as you think. After all, you met me." "Actually, it's just another day in a sequence of bad days that I have been having. Seems my luck has been having a bit of a slump lately, but your kindness has shown me that not all men our complete assholes." She says while her lips hint at a smile. Glancing out the front window, she notices that it's about to rain. "Just my luck! It looks as if it is just about to downpour." She shuts her mouth before he decides to change his mind.

Yet, the nagging thought remained: had I made an enemy without realizing it? The dim lighting of the club flickered across my vision, breaking my train of thought. I was here to unwind, not drown myself in paranoia. Anna was beside me, her presence pulling me out of my spiraling thoughts. The music thumped in the background, bass-heavy and vibrating through the floors. The air smelled of alcohol, sweat, and a faint trace of orange blossoms—Anna's favorite scent, no doubt wafting off her wrist.

Tomorrow. Yes, tomorrow is the day where two clans will fight life and death, defending the honor of their group even if it costs them life and blood. I would still hear Matthew choking on his vomit, his breaths rattling when they were able to be sucked in.
