A Castle of Secrets
For a moment, he hesitated, but grabbed it out of my hand.
A smile played on my lips, “Thank you. Ezra, would you mind pulling up the car?”
He nodded, rushing away, and returning a few moments later. He popped the trunk as well as opening the back door. I began to lean for one of the wooden crates, but the man stopped me, “Please, allow me to at least work for the extra. We can handle it,” he snatched up an apple, handing it to me.
The apple was delicious. It had a sweet, yet tart inside and a great crunch.
