A Lady Reading A Book Novels & Stories

The air was thick with the aroma of coffee and freshly baked bread from the bakery next door. In a corner by the window, a young lady sat reading a book, oblivious to the world around her. She had a cup of coffee in one hand and a blanket draped over her legs, a perfect picture of peace and serenity. A group of friends sat around a small table in the center of the store, chatting and laughing as they played a board game. An older couple sat in the armchairs by the fireplace, holding hands and gazing contentedly into the flames.

’ James thought. At the same time, a young man who seemed to be in his mid-twenties was sitting inside a huge hall located at Mount Yaneiri. The man was quietly reading an old, yellowed book. He seemed immensely intrigued by the contents of the book as he would occasionally pause and frown whenever he found something unexpected. “Brother.” A beautiful lady in a white dress walked in through the door just then. The lady had a tall and voluptuous figure. Her smooth, black hair reached her lower back. The lady emanated an aura of grace and elegance.

I had almost forgotten they speak these since Damien stopped some time after I was brought to this pack. “Hey come on.” Linda turned to me swiftly before walking into another room. Walking into the room filled with nothing more than long rows of shelves filled with books to the brim, a quite aged woman was sitting at a table, reading a book with her eyeglass fixed on the bridge of her nose. “Hello, Mrs. Kennedy.” Linda greeted, keeping a smile on her face. “Hello, how may I help you?” She did not look friendly, not even one bit, she looked like she was mad for getting disturbed. Linda immediately pulled the stealer’s book from her back, placed it on the table and hurriedly flipped through th

She stood on the chain bridge for a while, but she grew bored very soon and decided to enter the book house. There was a lady dressed in a dress managing the book house. Her dress was as green as a tea leaf, and there were exquisite flowers embroidered on it. She seemed to be around 35 years old. Her hair was tied up into a bun while her skin seemed very fair and smooth, making her look mature yet traditional at the same time. The lady boss sat at the front desk while she read a book. There was a cup of coffee placed beside her hand, and upon seeing that someone had entered the house, she froze. Clearly, she did not expect to have guests at this moment.

Initially, Lady Faye opposed her suggestion to do servant duties inside the mansion, but after some time she acceded to her request knowing that it was her only way of decreasing her boredom and sadness. Lianne was sitting comfortably under the shade of a cypress tree with her knees bent to support the book she was reading intently. She was wearing a blue peasant dress that reached the ankle hiding her ivory-skinned legs. Covering her face was a delicately weaved wide-brimmed hat that was embellished with a red satin ribbon. The field of grass surrounding her was moist and fresh from a dense rainshower earlier that noon. The afternoon sun was hidden behind some clouds and the ocean breeze wa

Amanda chuckled, she was forced to follow her husband's wishes, but the man's request made Amanda have no intention of continuing any pictures, she chose to move to pick up a thick book that she had not finished reading. The position of the iPad did not shift or move away from its place, it remained there, and Amanda positioned herself so that Oriaga could see his wife's activities. "What book are you going to read, huh?" Oriaga asked. "I hope you're not reading a book called 'Being the Most Woman—" "A Japanese novel." Amanda pointed to the book. "You can see the title and the author's name, right?" "Hm. Yes, please stop reading a book called 'Being the Happiest Woman', don't read it."

The old lady stopped sweeping and quickly kept the broomstick away thinking she was a customer. "Yes, what can we do for you?" And she hurriedly walked towards the door. Luna was quick to stop her from acting upon her storekeeper's instinct by carefully tapping her shoulder. "I'm sorry for the sudden visit. I just came here for this." Luna replied, and retrieved the book in her bag. Confusion ran across the old lady's face and her un-filtered reaction of scrunched forehead and indistinct annoyance turned Luna more meek. What the hell is that book? The old lady thought. This ain't a library, she wanted to say. But Luna looked harmless and affable so she hesitated to cut her out. Maybe this is

Just from the titles of the books alone, I knew I would be put right to sleep if I tried to read a sentence or two out of any of them. God I wondered what kinda people enjoyed reading, but then looking at this lady whom I believed was the storekeeper because she really did look like it, I didn't need to wonder far. I mean, just look at her in those humongous uglyass glasses enlarging those blue eyes, in that even uglier sweater and who still wore tights? Definitely a boring book reader. "Thank goodness Wilma, you're awake" the storekeeper came in relief to the stiring and moaning lady on the floor as her eyes opened up.

It was the perfect place to hide and read. My retracing my steps paid off as the nook came into view, but it wasn’t as empty as I had first seen it. A lady sat on the couch, curled up with a book on her lap, too engrossed in what she was reading to notice I was standing a few feet from her. ‘Why is she there?’
