The children enter very quietly in the classroom. It was the first lesson with Mr. Knudlac for Elizabeth and for many others. "Please sit down," Knudlac told the children. And open the magic book ... on page 4. On each desk where two students were seated, a volume of How to use a wand - Lessons for beginners, Get busy and make it snappy by Paula Brown, appeared for each student.

When I stood in front of the book, the first page turned on its own. "First lesson of the Seven Magics Academy," Pops said, eyeing me. "You must never touch any of the pages in the books in this room. Touching them will increase their speed of deterioration." "Then, how?" I began, putting my hands at my sides so I wouldn't accidentally touch one. "Like this." He smiled, then leaned in close to the book. "Chapter One," Professor Pops said. The book instantly flicked to the page that said Chapter One.

Nothing crazy—just little things. But whoever wrote these wanted the students to get used to weaving magic into ordinary learning.” Zerina perked up in my head. “Smart. Hide it in habit. That’s how they trained young minds.”

It’s about energy. Control. Intent. You're a hybrid, your werewolf instincts will want to react. But magic requires precision.

"I said help, not heal." Her eyes narrowed. "What does that mean?" "It means," I whispered, raising my hand and pressing it to the side of her decaying temple, "that what I'm about to do is going to teach you a valuable lesson." I let my magic flow. It wasn't warm. It was sharp. Precise. Burning.

I stayed very still, why the fuck am I even in this class when I don’t have magic like others. I had no magic. No stages. No flow. Just fear and raw panic and the wild hope that I would not be killed by an exploding spell. The professor wrote something in the air and it hovered over us. “Let us begin. Channel your magic into the first sequence.” The class obeyed. The room filled with glowing shapes and swirling colors.
