A Second Life, A New Power Novels & Stories

They don't know I have plans, lots and lots of plans. It's a different feeling when you have a new lease on life. It's as if the whole world has been opened up to you, or as they say, it's your oyster. Things I didn't pay much attention to before now have new meaning, and I've found a new joy in even the simplest of things, while some things have been harder to traverse.

Project Rebirth has entered Phase Two. I looked up slowly. Alexander was already watching me, his expression hardening not with fear, but with readiness. “The past isn’t done,” I said. He nodded once. “Then neither are we.” Outside, the city glittered on beautiful, ruthless, waiting. And somewhere in the shadows, someone had just reminded me of the truth: My second life was never meant to be peaceful. It was meant to be powerful.

I start walking again, each step sinking into the damp earth, her words circling through me like a tide. She’s right. In that moment, the last of the void dissolved. Her soul was hers. Her second life was now truly hers to live.
