Kaydence POV... Heth and I made it to the library just as Heather was walking in. Her eyes scanned Heth and then she smiled. She took my arm and we walked inside. "So what's the deal with tall, dark and handsome anyway? Is he single?" I laughed. "Girl he is all yours as long as you keep him occupied so I can get closer with Christian." She looked back at Heth who was following behind us and then looked back at me.

said a sweet voice. She tried to open her eyes to see whoever it was. She saw a beautiful woman in a white long dress with a wreath of beautiful flowers in her head. "A-are y-you... " she asked stuttering can barely speak. "... a diwata!" she answered and smiled sweetly. "D-diwata?" she asked almost a whisper. "Yes, I am the Queen of fairies," still giving her the sweetest smile. Andrea just smiled at her and closed her eyes. She falls into a deep sleep again because of too much pain from her wounds.

He didn't act like a human at all and he didn't waste time. "I didn't need to sleep, my queen. Especially with the exciting feeling that I was going to receive my payment a while ago on this dinner table." If I were alive, I would blush because of his last sentence. That was what I always did, I could only imagine if I were alive. "You'll be alive in no time, my queen." He threw his mischievous smile that I was sure, any living woman would melt and fall into his arms to be devoured by the incubus.

At this moment, the elf queen was admiring various beautiful ornaments in her hands. “It's a pity that the elven treasures have such a big problem. It’d be over if others found out about it,” the elf queen muttered under her breath while she admired those things. It seemed that something serious had happened to the elves’ treasures. The female elf rushed into the room in a panic without going through the proper channels. “My queen.” The elf queen was shocked that someone had overheard her mumblings and hurled the things in her hands in anger. “What are you doing? Don’t you know that you have to knock on the door before entering my room?”

I whispered. “Yeah. He didn’t realize he had succeeded. That’s why the vampire wants her. She can make anyone listen to, see, and believe, anything she wants. Most sirens can only effect men, but a Eulalia is stronger. When her father sold her, it damaged her. She isn’t in touch with her abilities.” She revealed. “Sirens are a female only species. Therefore, no kings. You can only make a Eulalia with an incubus, concubus, kelpie, or a ponaturi. Each can create some unique power the queen can use for her people.”

I’d gotten used to being invisible long before Serena came to live with us when we were ten. Serena was half succubus and half siren. She had amazing blue eyes that sparkled with purple streaks bursting from her pupil and, tonight, was wearing her glossy, dark chocolate brown hair in a braid down her back. It was easy to see she wasn’t exactly into the idea of going to this bar.

“S-so you want me to do to you what you did to me last night?” Her body flushes with heat as she recalls everything that happened between them. How the Queen made her body sing, her nerves ending pulsing with emotions. She never believed it was possible to feel the things she felt last night. Though the Queen dismissed it as nothing, it doesn’t diminish the feeling she wrought from her last night. “Ding ding, we have a winner,” Yuelan answers slyly. Meilin takes a deep breath and gathers her courage. She makes her way to the Queen.

I force my chin up and weave through the crowd, seeking for Serena. My closest friend waves from near the bar, her platinum blonde hair braided into an extravagant updo that reveals the crescent moon tattoo snaking down her neck. Serena is a witch, her aura so intense that vampires reflexively stand aside as she passes. “Elara, over here!” she calls, her green eyes alight with eagerness. I reach her, attempting to keep my voice calm. “This is insane. There are at least five coven chiefs here and half the Night Court vampires.”

she replies. The Queen watches her in the mirror, her expression thoughtful but proud. “You will be ready when the time comes,” she says calmly. Outside, the footsteps return. Closer this time. Heavier. Not hurried in joy, but driven by urgency. A murmur rises in the corridor. Low voices. Sharp whispers. Still, inside the chamber, no one pays attention. “Bring the jewels,” the Queen orders. A servant rushes forward with a small carved box, placing it carefully on the nearby table. The lid opens to reveal rows of glittering pieces, gold and gemstones catching the morning light.

I am utterly in awe of the beautiful creature in front of me. “Our mate.” Rohan mutters dreamily. “Our queen.” I agree.
