"T-t-there's something in y-your voice," she stammered nervously as she gently tugged at her fingers. "In my voice?" She nodded again. "It's h-hard to ignore." "I don't understand where you're going with this." "Your voice," she looked down as a light blush stained her cheeks, "is the only voice that I can hear perfectly."

He put it to the highest volume so that he won’t hear any noise aside from his music. Meanwhile, a loud noise can be heard in a nearby house. The breaking sound of the glass that comes off the table rang out in the whole house. There, a guy came out of the house while hanging his empty bag on his shoulder. He has this blank and emotionless face while walking out of the house. He looked at his own Harry Winston wrist watch that was a gift to him by his father.

Her voice is reaching no one. Katarina closes her eyes, and the air around her picks up. It swirls her hair around her head. The voices die down as people start to catch on to what’s happening. Katarina opens her eyes, shining a white light. “Quiet.” Her voice is low but strong and resolute. All sounds cease, and the pack is enthralled in the sight before them.

Their voices piled on each other until the air itself vibrated with their noise. I slammed my palm against the table and stood, the sound echoing like thunder. “QUIET!” I roared. The room went dead still. The silence that followed was heavy, trembling with the weight of my fury. Silas, my uncle, finally decided to speak. Of course he did. His voice was calm, measured, the way a man sounds when he’s about to shift the tide of the room. “I think what everyone is trying to say,” he began smoothly, “is that we need to be prepared for the possibility that she doesn’t return with what she promised.”

The deeper he went, the more frantic he became. He called my name over and over again, but no one answered. Laila had followed him outside, and finally, she snapped. "Philip, stop. Grace's a grown woman. She's not lost—she's just being dramatic again. Why are you making this such a big deal—" "Shut up!" Philip snapped, turning on her with fire in his eyes. "Keep your mouth shut, or get the hell out of my sight!" He kept moving, heart thudding with every step.

I glare at him, my brows frowned. "She most certainly does. See I pretty much know everything about our students except her. She doesn't talk about her family and nobody at The Academy seems to know anything either. Even the information given to the school after she joined was vague...” He takes a sip of his beer, his eyes trained on me, “All the school knows about the Silent Student is that she comes from a rich family that possibly has connections to the chairman and that her name is Atlas Winters. She's practically a ghost at The Academy. Did you know that her age isn’t even in our system?"

Everything stops! Silence.
