The world fell silent, like sound itself had died. “Emilia,” I whispered, my voice barely existing. “Emilia?” No response. My vision blurred. “Emilia, don’t…” My throat closed up. “Don’t fucking play with me.” Still nothing. No breath. No heartbeat. Just stillness. Just silence. “Emilia…” I whispered again, but my voice didn’t sound like mine anymore. It sounded hollow. Broken. Dead. Behind me, Soraya exhaled softly. “Finally,” she murmured. “My job is done.”

I sighed in relief as the silence began to take hold. Humans wouldn't understand what silence truly was to a telepath or empath. It was agreed that silence was harder to achieve with an empath and furthermore when they found there someone quiet, they held on for dear life. They could sometimes get obsessive or even violent.
