It was still the same. Waves of disappointment hit me and I couldn't hold it back anymore. A single tear rolled down my eyes slowly, before finally leaving my face and dropping on Anna's face. That lone tear was followed by a stream of others.

My fingers wrap around her trembling biceps, shaking her ever so slightly. “Everyone,” she drones, a single tear slipping free.

Something I am glad of as a single tear runs down my face. “Please don’t” I say just above a whisper, his eyes flick up to mine, the guilt in his handsome face as he reaches up to wipe the tear from my face. I pull back not wanting him to take my tear, that's my tear my pain, that pain has fueled me to grow and be stronger. I pull my hand from him needing to regroup, sort through this horrible feeling that has been my constant companion for the past six months.

A single tear broke free at last and slid down my cheek. This was it; the end.

She pressed a hand to her mouth in an attempt to muffle her sobs, her emotions threatening to consume her. In the quiet solitude of the bathroom, her tears fell like rain. It was as if each tear held the weight of her fears, her regrets, and the overwhelming uncertainty that now hung over her future. She sank to the bathroom floor, her back against the wall, as the reality of her situation crashed down upon her.

“S-Scarlett…” Scarlett smiled, her tears still streaming down her cheeks. Sharlene tried to touch her daughter on the cheek. “I-I’m sorry,” she apologized. Scarlett shook her head and took her mother’s hand in hers. “Please tell your father that I’m sorry… I-I l-love him…” Scarlett's eyes widened, and she shook her head as she sobbed. “Everything will be fine, mom; let’s go home,” she sobbed. Sharlene wiped Scarlett's tears away with a smile.

Vega screamed even louder, only to wake up from a nightmare. She breathed heavily, and her heart raced badly. It was just a dream, she thought, but the dream seemed so real. Suddenly, she felt something on her eyes, and when she placed her hands on it, she was shocked to find out it was tears. Did she cry for real? "oh no." This wasn't to be taken lightly, this was her first time dreaming about something so dreadful that she cried into reality. "Jackie?" She mind linked her wolf immediately. Her wolf responded just as quickly.

I was so mad. I don't know where that madness was coming from. But I feel so heavy that I feel like I might shrink under the ground. I wanted to shed a tear, but nothing is coming out. I wanted to burst into tears, but there was something inside me saying NO! A single tear is not worth it to give to this woman. Raven got near me, and she held my hands while the old woman was shaking in tears.

A small slither of happiness wraps around my heart, and yet I still can't stop the tears from falling. "Thank you." He whispers out, like those two words were the hardest thing to ever say in his life. Shock overcomes my body as my head shoots up to look at him, my vision slightly blurry from the tears. We just stare at one another no words between the two of us. As he wipes my tears from my cheeks, Alessandro's palm rises up to cup my cheek, warmth soaking into the skin there. His steely eyes meet my green ones. Time appears to have stopped, leaving only Alessandro and myself.

Rosalind was unusually quiet that night, playing the part of a devoted spouse. It wasn't until the third course arrived that she suddenly said, "Do you know what a marriage certificate looked like, Mr. Stevenson?" Before Peter Stevenson could even reply, Rosalind pulled ours out of her handbag and tore it into pieces in front of everyone. "Just like this." She scattered the pieces over the table. "As long as I'm happy, I can tear it apart anytime I want." The private room went dead silent. A scrap of paper clung to a slice of fatty tuna, making an absurd, grotesque decoration.
