Vows Of Deception
There was a flicker of something dark in his gaze, something predatory, as if he was savoring the moment.
“See?” he murmured, his voice low, almost taunting. “You can fight it all you want, but in the end, you’ll always come back to me.”
I swallowed hard, my chest heaving. I wanted to slap him. I wanted to scream at him, to tell him he was wrong.
But instead, I stood there, caught in the tangled web of emotions I couldn’t untangle.
“I hate you,” I whispered, my voice barely audible.
Luca chuckled, stepping closer again, and this time, I didn’t pull away. “Good,” he said softly. “Because hate is just another form of desire.”
