The Widow’s Blood Debt

The Widow’s Blood Debt

"Are they not?" "I liquidated Vane Logistics four months ago," I lied, a bold assertion that held my breath captive. The audacity of my feint reminded me of the high stakes we were playing; commitment was the name of the game. I projected a series of fraudulent but perfectly crafted documents onto the wall behind him, each one a building block in a tower of deception. "The assets you’re trying to seize don't exist. They’ve been absorbed into a decentralized autonomous organization based in Switzerland. The 'third-party' trustee listed in the contract is now merely a trustee of an empty shell."

The Alpha’s Quest

The Alpha’s Quest

The betrayal, the deception, the hollow promises once made whispered in the dark. The image of his face, contorted in a cruel smile, flashed before my eyes. His words, laced with venom and deceit, echoed in her ears. "You will be nothing without me," he had said, his eyes cold and calculating. "you're a pathetic little thing, trapped in a cage of your own making. You don't even have a good wolf to communicate with. Poor thing."

I wondered. “Nuances,” he smiled with genuine enjoyment, his face lighting with the expression. “Fae cannot lie, but if their language tells you that they’re not telling the truth, is it really a lie? The language of deceit was initially developed as a literary device. It was their way of saying, this is an imagined story, and not a true event. When the cataclysm of mankind began, they evolved that language into one they use with man.” “And the Deceit of Elovyn is written in the language of deceit?” I puzzled it out. “So, it could be implying that Elovyn is lying, or just that the poem is a creation and not a true event?”

I loved this story that I did not want it to end. I would love to see Liera and Aurien's story continue from here although we do see snippets in your other books. I read this book often to remind myself that we all can fight through life's challenges with strength and determination. Thank you
Sarah.
I really loved the book, I wish there were more like it on this app. The characters are charming and the story is beautifully written, the premise makes me want to continue reading the other books. I hope there will be lots more like this one and maybe even longer

REJECTED MATE

REJECTED MATE

“I swear to you on all that is holy, I am not sleeping with a demon. If I am lying, may my Father strike me dead.” Nothing happened. All faces turned to me, each sporting identical frowns. My lips tightened. Angels were just like faeries—they didn’t tell lies. But they could sure as hell use misdirection. He’d just sworn a deadly vow but had phrased his wording so carefully that anyone not listening closely enough would believe it was the truth. I walked to the edge of the circle, and said, “The only reason you’re still not having an affair with Namara is because she dumped you.”

Unfaithful Vow

Unfaithful Vow

Every grain of light coming from the towering structure seemed to be a memory that slowly peeked into my mind. "I have no regrets," I said. "If I had to go unto it again, I'll gladly go back and do it all over again." I chuckled with the hint of sadness in me. The situation I'm at is enough proof that I didn't see this one coming. Because if I had seen it before, maybe it wouldn’t be this painful. “I do, Gael. I did, ” I said in the vast echo of remorse, and sadness. I know I that I vowed to be his wife, but I’m afraid that vow will remain unfaithful.

"It is not without logic." "Yes," Sera said. "Their definition of deception is doing significant work," he said. "If the panel accepts that concealing her voice constitutes material deception the argument holds." "If," Cress said. "If," Finn confirmed. He looked at the document. "The question is what the concealment was in response to," he said. "Deception implies intent to deceive for personal gain." He looked at Sera. "What were you concealing from?" Sera looked at him. "A structure designed to punish accurate perception," she said.

Even then, I still forced myself to keep it low so I wouldn't frighten the baby. "What he needs is a life without betrayal or deception! And what can you give him, Raimondo? A world full of women like Anna surrounding you? Endless family wars and dirty power games?" Raimondo looked like he had been struck by the truth. He staggered back half a step, agony surging visibly in his eyes. "I won't… I won't do it again, Cassia. I swear on my life—" I cut him off with a short, bitter laugh. "You swear? Did you forget? On our tenth anniversary, you were kissing me while flirting with Anna in Italese. Your vow is the cheapest thing in this world, Raimondo."

Vows Written in Blood

Vows Written in Blood

Because for Livia— every word sounded like a lie forced into becoming the truth. And at that moment— without realizing it— her tears fell. One drop. Then another. She did not wipe them away. Did not try to hide them. Because she knew— there was nothing left to save. Livia opened her mouth. But her voice was barely audible. Broken. Fragile. As if every word that came out was a betrayal of herself. “I… y-yes…” her voice nearly disappeared, “I do.” Silence. For a moment. Yet it felt so long.
