In the calm quiet of the night, my traitorous heart had fallen some more. And then we’d discussed the wolf I’d found that morning. It had stayed with me, lurking in the back of my mind as the first Warrior Wolf we’d found had. There was something so coarse about seeing a body not upon a battlefield. Although, I supposed, it was a different kind of battle. A darker one that played out with no honour.

Kate's P.O.V. As I pressed my hand on that warrior’s skin, darkness swallowed me whole. The cold hospital room vanished, replaced by a battlefield drenched in blood. The injured warrior staggered across the ruined courtyard, every breath sounding like broken glass scraping his lungs. His wolf growled fiercely as three rogues surrounded him, attacking at once. Despite his injuries, the warrior refused to retreat. He fought like a man protecting something far more valuable than his own life. Claws collided, and growls shook the air as he managed to throw one rogue into a wall before another ripped across his shoulder.

Damien's POV The celebration was in full swing under the Northern Lights. I held my drink, accepting congratulations from other pack leaders. Lila was clinging to my arm, the picture of perfect elegance. But I couldn’t shake a feeling of unease. Like I was forgetting something important. Suddenly, a gut-wrenching pain tore through me. It was a phantom silver blade, slicing open my chest and ripping my heart right out. "Argh—!" I screamed, falling from my chair.

And I — Sereyna — stand between both worlds, heart split where the howl meets the heartbeat. I can’t even say the word courage. The west stretches across the land in a number too great to count, and fear—fear isn’t the word either. If fear had any power left, we would have chosen surrender. We wouldn’t be standing here now, blades and hearts bared under the merciless daylight. A lone west warrior steps into the clearing, his armor flashing like deceit in the sun. I guess that’s Varyn’s spokesman. Beside me, Rauth lifts a hand, signaling one of his own to meet the man.

Like someone had placed it there for me to find. My fingers curled around the book. I lifted it slowly, carefully opening the cover. There was no title. Just brittle pages covered in faded script and lunar markings. Symbols I didn’t recognise. In the middle of the book, tucked between a page of symbols and another of warnings, I saw it. A story of a wolf with a soul that refused to leave the world of the living. It told of a warrior who died in battle, his body cold, his mate devastated. But she didn’t let go.

Third Person's POV There was no resistance as Victor stormed Lennox's pack with 500 warriors. The Alpha had no idea what to expect. Better to bring more men than you need than not enough, Victor always said. No one seemed concerned when they saw 500 of Victor's men flooding into their pack. Instead of fear in their eyes, they saw relief. It took no time for Victor's men to secure the perimeter of Lennox's pack. “Alpha Victor, are you here to help?” A Delta 1 Captain asked as he bared his neck in respect. His eyes were red and puffy, and dried tears streaked his face. Victor could hear the hope in his voice. Everything about the Delta 1 broke his heart.

The greenness of her eyes were the deepest I have ever noticed them. "Why would you put up with a loser like me?" She whispered. Actually, I don't think she whispered it, I think I heard her in my head. With the atmosphere around us and the way we were staring at each other, it was becoming difficult to know when our voices said a thing and when we communicated with our hearts. "You are not a loser. You are Anya Watson, a she wolf, the last of the strong one, an Optimus Primus, my best friend, my colleague and the love of my fucking life."

The men who went inside were all struggling to get out of the tent and it fell atop them and the tiger. Smiling to herself, Sara removed the fallen tent from their body as they ran away like mad men. The least they expected was a tiger inside a young girl's tent who was camping in a forest. Sara put all her things well and mounted her tiger as they continued their journey towards Autumn town. Sara inhaled sharply when she saw a few warriors in their uniforms staring at her with groggy eyes. One of the warriors looked at his horse and back to the tiger before gulping.
