She felt drawn to him, and as she took two steps forward with her hand reaching out to him, the tall mysterious warrior was tackled to the ground by the Beta. A battle cry was torn from the warrior's full lips as he picked Beta Daniel up like he was light as a feather, which she knew not to be true because he was built like a goddamn tank; all the werewolves were. How am I to be a cold-hearted warrior and keep the name I had built for myself if I am so weak as to have feelings? Real warriors do not possess feelings or care because it is a weakness. Something that can be used against me in the long run, something that is only good for holding me back. How did no one seem to understand this? I did not wish to be loved and I would not love in return.

And this thought is given by a nagging pain somewhere under the heart. The lamps cast strange shadows on the walls. Glare fell on a large cracked canvas depicting a battle. Because of their movement, it seemed as if the people on the canvas were coming to life, looking with cold, understanding eyes straight into the soul. One in particular: a tall red-haired warrior with wide red stripes on his shoulders. He held a spear that almost fell from his hand in a deadly flight, but he did not look at the enemy, but at the viewer. There seemed to be some condemnation in his eyes. Or not? The light changed again, and the warrior's gaze became completely indifferent.
