Then she inhales through her nose, slow and quiet, because Dex is still in the next room and she refuses to give him front-row seats to her neurological circus. “Welcome back,” she repeats. Yes. The word sits there. Small. Heavy. Back means previous. Back means known. Back means someone or something has a record of the place she came from, the blood on the floor, the dead hands clawing at her legs, the final betrayal dressed up as survival.

I had missed this man. I had missed him so much... So much I just want to run over to him and throw myself on him. POV Wolf Cherry, Cassy, Slivia and Dad came back in the late morning and they and Ruby insisted on sending me home. After much arguing, Jackal showed up and practically drug me out of the hospital and back to my house. "I'm just going to shower and change and then we are heading back." I said and he nodded. "Fine, boss. Whatever." he agreed as we pulled up at the house.

Whatever it may have been, Sarah still couldn't understand why she still thought her father was much better at caring for them than her mother. A long sigh escaped her lips as she walked along the road to her destination, the furniture store had given quite the amount for her grandma's vintage sofas that had been waiting to meet their death. Sarah skipped on her toes happily watching the sky slowly become a dark shade of amber just as she had liked, there was content in her heart after all she had gone through, this moment right here was her happiness.
