But Harry immediately took the book and ran wildly from the library.

Once I reached home I had already prepared myself to open it but I had to savour the moment of having the first magic book in the world. It was created by the first ever sorcerer, Gwydion the first. He had created this book of spells for the future generations of sorcerers but sorcerers and sorceresses got extinct ever since the plague. A wizard, Alizon, translated the book in such a way that any magic-possessing creature would be able to use the book effectively. The book was said to be lost after the first war of the Seven kingdoms. But it wasn't, Alizon hid it in Udhanba, one of the Seven kingdoms, in an abandoned temple and was killed right after that.

But instead of old stories from my grandmother’s life, the pages were scrawled with strange symbols and sketches—shorthand in her handwriting explaining the purpose of different runes and sigils. Flipping through the pages, there were sketches of wolves, and the last page that she’d written in had a detailed rendition of a nightmarish wolf-beast that made my blood run cold at the sight of it, it’s eyes smudged over with charcoal in the shape of a protective rune. My heart raced when I realized what I was holding. This was no ordinary journal, it was a spell book.
