Thoughts of my friends sent a sinking feeling into the pit of my stomach. Wilona, Liam, and I strolled together, exploring the estate’s environment as they gave insights into the places we passed. There were restaurants, cafés, even grocery stores and so much more. It was like an entire city here. “How many people live here?” I asked as I skimmed around me, my eyes widened in astonishment. “Over a thousand,” Wilona answered. My mouth fell open.

The number might be lower today than it was last week. I only knew of three new people who'd been born and one who left. That meant seventeen other kids had joined the community in six years. "They've had a baby boom. They're up nineteen. It was seventeen ninety." Eason craned his head, keeping his focus on the city limit sign as we passed it. "Wow." That one word held so much wonder. Like a child at an aquarium or an amusement park, his jaw hung slightly ajar as he stared in amazement. Or it might have been the acres of blackened fields that stunned him.

“How many people are down there?” She paused for a second, then bowed her head. “Um, Supreme Luna, I’m not sure, but there’s a lot of people. Different packs are going to come here, so… thousands of people will be outside for the ceremony.” My eyes widened. “Thousands of people?” “Yes, Supreme Luna.” She bowed again. I sat back, my heart racing. I’d never even been around that many people before, especially not when the entire ceremony was about me. The thought made my palms sweat.

The streets were very crowded, and the noisy sounds of people buying and selling filled the place. “I didn't expect this base to be this crowded. Before, I only walked around the front area of the base, so I didn't know that this base was actually very lively!” Poppy's eyes sparkled when she saw many people passing by around her. “I guess I should take you on a tour of the base. This base is larger than you imagine; there are more than fifty thousand people living here,” Evander explained, gently patting the top of Poppy’s head. “Isn’t that number too large?” Poppy’s eyes widened in disbelief when she heard Evander’s words.

The fake Yvonne said, "A big apartment in downtown South City is going to be more than ten million dollars no matter what. Do you…do you know how many people who have helped me are there?" Marcus pursed his lips and smiled. "My adorable wife, don't tell me that you have more than ten thousand people who have helped you over the years. If there are ten thousand people, then I indeed can't afford it. That's going to be more than one hundred billion dollars. I'll really have to go bankrupt. There can't really be ten thousand people who have helped you, can there? If that's really the case, then your husband will have to retract what he said."

“Ten thousand?” Vanessa nodded calmly, like she hadn’t just blown my ears off with that number. “Give or take. Some say it’s closer to fifteen or twenty thousand… I think… yeah, that should be it… or more…” I gawked at her as she continued speaking. “That’s like a city.”

I smiled, knowing the event is in good hands; even though it is the biggest event yet. I leaned back in my chair, “Five thousand people at this event! Unbelievable.” Aidinth smiled, “I believe it. You and Luna Abby are the dream team of getting shit done. Nothing goes unnoticed.” I laughed, “That’s hilarious. I’ll have to remember to tell Luna Abby that one. She’ll get a kick out of it too.”
