Absolute Sword Sense Novel Novels & Stories

Caught off guard, Elder Noble stammered, “I, I, I’m just going back to my chambers. You should head back; the tranquility of these corridors is…scary.” Isolde’s response was anything but reassuring. Her smile, cold and calculating, sent a shiver down his spine. “Then let’s fill it with your screams,” she remarked casually, her words laced with a sinister intent. Before Elder Noble could react, Isolde’s hand shot out, gripping his shoulder with a strength that surprised him. The world seemed to blur for a moment, and then a searing pain radiated from his neck. His eyes widened in horror as he felt the sharp, biting sensation of a blade penetrating his flesh.

My fingers loosened against NightSword and it clattered away from me. Eryndor’s eyes were dilated, his canines dripping saliva as he dove for the sword, picking it up with a feral grin. He raised it above my head as I watched in horror. NO!, NightSword screamed in my head, in protest at being wielded by one not bonded to him. My ears popped and my vision was lost again as a powerful sonic blast emerged from the ancient weapon, a beam of energy spiraling outwards and slamming into Eryndor.

My eyes watched him disappear in horror. After my momentary lapse of concentration, an arm came about my middle. I yanked against the pull, but I couldn't get away from the strong arm. Isabell came at me, sword aloft in both hands. She came down hard, like she would slice me in two. The edge of the sword cut into my shoulder. Ice cold pain lanced down through me, ripping that warm happiness away like a poison. Power burst from me like a nova, pushing both of them away. I watched them tumble as they lost their control.

Blade’s POV I woke up groaning in pain as the first thing I felt was a twinge in the lower part of my back. Then the next bundle of pain came right after from my forehead and when I reached out to it, I felt a bandage around my head. The door opened and although my sight was quite blurry, I could still make out the image of Camila. She had a good scent and was in a different outfit which was a good sign that things were getting better.

The air around him seemed full of static, giving me goosebumps as he approached. A look of anger flashed over his usually mischievous face, then it quickly subsided. He recaptured his emotions neatly, but the tendon sticking out from his hand, tightly gripping his sword, gave him away. A golden current matching the color of his hair and eyes, hovered above his sword. Same like Alistair, it was the first time I witnessed his swordsmanship. A blazing golden energy wrapped around his sword, rattling the air around him. The image was overwhelmingly shocking, but more pressing than that, Alistair suddenly let out a painful groan.

Cameo asked from behind me as I stepped into the air-conditioned space. I ignored him. My fingers drifted lazily over the weapons. Metal kissing my skin, while one name burned through my mind. Abel Roshid. “Sir?” “Cameo, do as I’ve said.” My voice cut in, cold and final. His heavy sigh followed, then the sound of the door closing behind him. When I was alone, I picked the flick blade with serrated edges. Unsheathed it and ran my thumb along the ridges, feeling every bite of it. A dark smile curled on my face.

I clenched the hilt more firmly, allowing the intense heat from my Sunball, emanating from my necklace space, to flow into the blade. Pale lightning flickered along its edges, pulsing with my heartbeat. The creature halted mid-lunge, detecting the change in energy. It seemed designed to prevent anyone from taking Maureen’s journal. Its eyes widened, wild and supernatural, as I thrust the sword ahead. The strike hit with a thunderous crack. The beast’s roar echoed so hard it nearly deafened my ears before it crumpled to the ground, lifeless. From the edge of the clearing came slow, deliberate clapping. I turned sharply.

sneered the swordsman, driving his blade mercilessly into the man’s back, piercing through to his belly. “My husband!” screamed the woman in anguish, clutching her daughter tightly as tears streamed down her face. The little girl’s wailing soon joined her mother’s cries, filling the night with sorrow. “Finish them all! I must return to Leader Huang,” the swordsman declared coldly, yanking his blade free from the lifeless body at his feet. The man wearing a black headband, emblazoned with two downward-curving golden lines, burst forward with lightning speed toward the circle of swordsmen who were besieging a lone warrior of the Sacred Dragon Sect.

CLANG. The impact was like striking solid mountain basalt. A blinding fan of golden sparks erupted into the dark, but the sentinel’s iron leg didn't bow. The weapon barely notched the dark metal. Before Killian could reset his guard, the sentinel swung its massive, three-pronged clamp downward, catching the broadsword’s thick blade and snapping the five-foot steel bar in two as if it were dry pine.
