I ask curiously. "Oh, this is my favourite," Crimson says. "It's you at your engagement party." The world seems to shudder to a stop, my entire attention zeroing in on the photo. "I'm engaged?" I whisper. I better not be engaged to that older man... "Yes, of course." Crimson points to the younger man. "This is Vade, a Prince from Territory Five. You two were engaged the moment you were born. His father is great friends with yours." Nasuea twists in my stomach.

My shock must have shown on my face because his lips twitched like he was trying not to smile. The fae and fairies were notoriously proud races. Most barely tolerated the other kingdoms. Dragons were territorial to the point of brutality. They hated dealing with the faes. Yet here stood a fae holding a position of authority inside the private fortress of the realm’s most feared Dragon Prince. I recovered quickly before I embarrassed myself further. “It is a pleasure to meet you,” I replied politely. Aeris bowed his head gracefully. “You as well, Princess.” Then he stepped aside. “If you would follow me, I'll take you to your chambers.”

Aurelius noticed the disturbed look on his sister's face due to the mention of the Infernal fiends and that wretched place. "That might be true but..." Sylvia trailed with creased brows but Aurelius quickly interrupted her to amend his statement. "Don't take it as a praise to them. Don't worry, I'm fine now I'm never coming back to that place. I'm Aurelius II, Prince of Neo Macedonia and the little brother of the greatest female knight, Sylvia. I'm no longer Dyrrus the Infernal Prince. I'm only Aurelius now." He reassured, raising his hands on the air to show no harm or ill will. An inaudible sigh escaped Sylvia's lips as her frown was replaced by a small smile.

“His Highness Prince Ethan Theo Azrael Hezekiah von Clandestine and his partner, Her Highness Princess Althea Rin Eurydice Brielle von Clandestine, has arrived.” Dio watched the third princess and the sixth prince, who were both in the higher year, enter the hall. They were wearing golden-colored attires that emphasized their status as imperial children. He thought that they really went all out and outshined the only child of the empress with their outfit.

Another spray of blood confirmed another kill. “Ahi Roar!” the prince yelled, livid from losing two Agile followers. He clenched his fists, and sent punch after punch of draconic energy towards Zephyr. The attack did not get far though, it got cut down by Zephyr no sooner had they left his hands. “Damn it! Damn you! Damn everything!” the prince cried, once again preparing for another attack.

“You’ve been very busy. Very… focused. My brother must be pleased.” Lirian forced a neutral tone. “Prince Vaelor has been occupied with other matters.” Draven laughed softly. “Yes. Occupied.” He reached out, fingers closing around Lirian’s wrist before he could pull away. The grip wasn’t painful yet, but it was unyielding. Draven’s thumb pressed over the pulse point, and something flickered in his expression. Recognition. “You carry Aether,” he murmured. “Latent. Dormant. But it’s there. Singing under your skin.”

Cheers rose the moment Lucien stepped forward, holding the tiny prince securely in his arms while Caelan stood proudly beside him. “Today, we present Prince Aether Draven,” Lucien announced, his voice carrying clearly across the square. “Born of the bond between king and consort. Born of silver light and unbreakable strength. He is the living proof that love — real, defiant love — can create miracles. The realm is whole again.” Caelan stepped closer, placing a gentle hand on Aether’s head. The ancient power shimmered faintly around the child, a soft silver glow visible to all. The crowd erupted in joyous cheers, many kneeling or raising their hands in blessing.

It formed a massive, pulsating ring of glowing energy, completely engulfing us all in a barrier of light. “You will fight me last, little foe,” Atherius said, its voice a dark, musical rumble that seemed to shake the ground beneath my boots. “First, you shall meet my brothers.” I stood before Atherius with my knees tucked down deep in the cold snow, trying to steady my racing pulse. “I am Atherius, the prime aether dragon,” the dragon said, his iridescent milky-white opal scales shimmering like liquid light beneath the gray sky.

What I know is that I wouldn't have let go until his eyes popped out of their sockets. “I am sending you gifts, Alpha Benna.“ He responded; his voice was now calm. I furrowed my brows, wondering if I had heard that correctly. Why would he send me gifts when my men were now in his kingdom, destroying everything? Or could it be that they never went out of fear of being caught and are just pulling my legs?
