The day rushed through as the universe didn't like me and the next dreaded day, Monday finally came. I turned and tossed around in my bed, deep in thought. Like I`ve just said, you are on your own.” “Please have some mercy on me.” “How can there be mercy if messiah can`t be there?” This man left me lying on the ground then vanished into the dark.

Then its chest opened, panels shifting and sliding until I saw a black hole pulsing inside it, glowing faint red. “Express its disappointment?” Hoodie Guy muttered near me. “Interesting.’” The Game Master clapped its hands, the sound loud and final. “The song will end when the system decides it has had enough,” it said cheerfully. “Until then… dance.” And just like that, the music began. It wasn’t any song I recognized, it was something electronic and disorienting, full of deep beats that shook the floor. I forced my body to move—awkward, jerky steps, my arms swaying stiffly. I felt ridiculous, but I didn’t care. I wasn’t about to find out what “disappointment” meant.

The path opened suddenly into a wide clearing, and the scene hit him like a wave. Logs and old pallets fed the blaze, the heat pushing out in warm waves that cut through the cool night air.
