But what I said was different. “Those texts influence the mind,” I said. “They make people see things that are not real.” Adelaide stared at me like she couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “You think I’m imagining things?” “That is not what I said.” “It is exactly what you said.” The room suddenly went silent, as we both stared at each other.
